They've already changed the rules enough to the benefit of the offenses as it is so Defenses have to do what they have to do. Don't like it? Tough shite. Nobody asked for them to change the rules to benefit the offenses in the first place.

Please see the above clip of an offensive player flopping.

Frame it as precaution for the health of the player. Sit for 3 plays to help determine the full extent of the “injury”. Similar to sitting a play when the player loses his helmet.

Yep, it has to be something like this. The whole reason you can get away with fake injuries is the safety angle. Use their weapon against them and sit the bad actors for precautionary measures.

May not prevent flops at the goal line for a deep team… but it will help.

Maybe it it’s within the Red Zone they have to sit out the next possession too.

At a minimum they need to go back and review the film and see how many of these players come back in 1 or 2 plays and issue public warnings that if this happens again that fines will be handed out to the school.

Umm, shouldn't they put a rule out before handing out fines? Just from a legal standpoint if not a moral one.

Lame take.

The offenses found a wrinkle that gave them an advantage… Saban and Bielma bitched and complained to limit the speed of the offenses. Rules were implemented to “prevent injuries” to the defensive linemen. I’m not aware of rules changed to benefit the offenses and the HUNH strategy.

Make it reviewable upon the opposite team’s coach’s challenge and if it’s deemed to be a flop then flag them for a delay of game penalty

I think the point of sitting out the entire drive if you would required an injury timeout is bc you deemed yourself too hurt to walk off the field. So it must be serious.

We need the “I’ll give you something to cry about” method here.

You fake an injury, and the ref just kicks you right in the nuts in the middle of the field then blows the whistle to resume play.

If there is a timeout for an injury.. that player is ineligible for the rest of the possession.

Unless the team of the injured player calls a timeout.

You make the player miss the rest of the drive not just 1 play and then if you find video of the coaching staff directing a player to go down you point it out and fine the frick out of them like 250k for first offense

This is going to sound like a conspiracy theory, but Lane has submitted injury reports with up to 26 players I believe. I asked an Ole Miss why there were so many, and they said Lane is being cute with the report. He’s had the most “injuries” in the conference playing a soft schedule. This dude must be covering his arse if the conference tries to do something to him, bc he will just say “see, that player is on the injury report so it’s not fake.”

Lane is 2 steps ahead of everyone with his system.

Coaches can put an end to it by not being bush league dirtbags.

Injury requires you sit out for 4 plays. 4 snaps. Change of possession does not matter. A punt is a single snap.

This will end 98% of the bullshite.

Concur, it's a safety issue. The player obviously think they have an injury, so make them take time to thoroughly examine, right?

Take the injured player out for at least two series to make sure they are 'alright'
