Alabama tells the SEC that "we want our bye week before LSU"
Since the modern SEC which started in 1992 Alabama has played LSU more than any other team.
These two major bullet points means the Rivalry application by LSU cannot be denied by Alabama.

That's why when you hear/read about the SEC reshuffling/expanding, they ALWAYS put UGA with USC.....& their only reason for that is "because they border each other".
&, I believe, we have more of a rivalry with Miss. than USC.

See response for Tenn-Bama. Depending on where in Mississippi you are some OM fans hate us more than State. I genuinely believe that I f they went 2-6 in SEC play but their wins were over LSU and State they'd be as happyas the SECCG winner with that season. Before Nick came to town the only team you could possibly argue we wanted to beat more was Florida depending on the year. (Or Tulane before they turned shitty in football.)

Ga Tech and AU used to be the oldest in the South. I hate that SEC scheduling nixed it.

I'm amused by LSU fans who think Alabama is their only rival. Is there any SEC team that plays Alabama and doesn't consider it their biggest game? That's a serious question, because while rivalries are big, who would trade a win over Alabama, for one over their rival?
I'm just not sure if LSU fans understand the concept of rivalries. LSU and A&M have everything needed to be a great rivalry, but some LSU fans seem blind to it.

Meh, Bama and LSU have played more times just by circumstances that arose. If this was a factor in a rivalry then State would be our biggest one since we have played them more times than anybody.
WHen AU and UT are in town its just more intense. A different feel in the air. I dont really notice LSU til game week and its honestly no bigger than Arkie or Ole Miss outside of a couple games the last 10 years. I've always kinda liked LSU for some odd reason. UT and AU can go pound sand. I dont think Bama would be a big game for LSU if the Saban factor wasnt involved. I just have a hard time calling LSU anything more than a big game. I certainly dont see it as a rivalry. You get over a loss to LSU pretty quick. Auburn, well, heck, I dreamed that we lost last night 3-0 and woke up and said what a nightmare. Seriously. THATS when you know its a rivalry.
