Almost. Missouri was really good this year. They almost beat Kentucky at home.

People are saying Notre Dame should be left out with a SOS of 42, yet it's unfair for UCF to get left out with a SOS of 90?

People hate ND.

They don't hate UCF.

That's fine, but if I see that happen and I'm Arkansas State or Appalachian State I'm scheduling Lenoir Ryhne, Mars Hills, Richmond and Tennessee State OOC next year.

Well, UCF also played Pitt this year. They had UNC scheduled as well.

Both were better than Louisville, so why not, right?

There's nothing fair or equitable about college football and schedule/conference affiliation is a big reason why. If UCF wants to have a legit chance they need to play a legit slate. I feel for the fact that these guys are playing the hand they're dealt and have performed superbly but if they want in they need to pull a Notre Dame -- go independent and start scheduling good competition.

Yeah, but they didn't. None of them could even win their conference. Only one of them did anything of note this season.

So again...back to subjectivity, and that only carries the value we assign to it.

None of that is subjective. It's common sense. You're just arguing to argue.

I don't think you know what either of these things means.

The last time we played UGA, Alabama, and Auburn all 3 lost. 25-0 doesn’t happen very often in beer league softball much less FBS football. 6 players from last years UCF team are also on active NFL rosters including a 1st round CB. It’s laughable some say we have no talent.

So you don't. I thought that was the case. Thanks for confirming.

Touting wins over 6-7 UGA and 3-8 Alabama doesn't do much in this argument. The Auburn win does.

Totally agree, and anybody who says you guys don't have talent is an idiot.

I think it has been more "fair" than what we had before. I just wish they used the old BCS ranking rather than a committee.

No. It needs to be at least 16 teams. I'd prefer 32. We need a true playoff in college football.

It kind of does when someone makes the claim that Arkansas would go undefeated if they were UCF. Relatively mediocre UCF teams beat SEC teams.

Now, obviously, that's a silly comment to make. Still, it was made.

They have gotten it right since it has came into play. There is definitely some unfairness. If it went to 6 or 8 teams, I think it would be better, but there would still be complaints.

I think having polls at the start of the year is what needs to change. Being picked in the top 10 based on the opinions of writers/coaches that your team will be that good without playing a game is wrong. It gives those teams such an advantage. Auburn was a pre season top 10 team, explain that! Wait until October 1st to pass out rankings. I know that will still leave Non- power 5 teams out, but at least we will have a better idea of who the best teams are.

The thing is can you honestly say that UCF would be undefeated if you played Tennessee's schedule? We were terrible this year (about as up and down and unpredictable as any team I've seen( but we didn't lose to a single team that's not bowling and our SOS is 2nd in the nation. We're sitting at home because we played real teams. How would UCF have dealt with it?

Why on Earth should I be sympathetic to a team who played a bunch of cupcakes? If we had your schedule we'd definitely be bowling.

I'm trying to think of a year where they actually did get it right...assuming "best four teams" is actually the goal.

Would Notre Dame or Clemson be undefeated with Tennessee's schedule?
