You're being purposefully dense and tiring. You know exactly why SOS is important and why it's rightfully preventing UCF from getting to the playoff.

He'd be livid if a one loss tOSU was bumped from the playoffs for an undefeated UCF.

The BCS with the SOS component was fair.

Six teams, using conference champions and an improved BcS selection process would be ideal, I think.

This is why this continues. P5 conferences think they've earned some entitlement to play for championships that's not extended to a school that wins 25 in a row.

Pretending that you don't understand my points or that they're just "dense and tiring" won't save you from needing to argue your position.

Just read through this thread. LSU, for the love of all that is good, do your job. Ok?

I'd be more annoyed about Notre Dame than UCF. At least UCF has a championship this season.

Whatever the system, UCF presently does not deserve a seat at the table. You would not be undefeated had you played at a minimum, ACC schedule.

That's because you hate ND.

I like Notre Dame just fine. We've played them a few times recently and their fans were just fine. I hate the inconsistent application of subjective criteria determining a national *champion.

Do y’all believe the 4 team “playoff” is fair and equitable for all stakeholders or does it need to be fixed? I’ll hang up and listen.

I think it is "fair" but not optimal. I would prefer a 6-team playoff with 2 teams receiving a first round bye.

So, that would have Ohio State playing Notre Dame (the winner playing Clemson); and, Georgia playing Oklahoma (the winner playing Alabama).

You aren't deserving of squat. Play someone worth a damn. That goes for Clemson as well. The ACC is a dumpster fire.

What is the "big boy's table?" Do Oregon State, Rutgers, Arkansas, Kansas, and Louisville get a seat at this table?

Do they get one by being 3-9? No.

P5 playoff. Can you help me find that?

Why would you want that. It is a playoff that finds the four best teams. There will always be a fifth team that thinks they deserve in, if you expand it to 8 then the 9th will bitch.

The regular season and your performance matters in CFB, not a run late. This is not the NCAA baseball tourney, or the NFL.

The body of work will always matter as long as we have this system. There are way too many unknowns unless you play top level competition. Oregon State, Arkansas, Kansas or Louisville would have all navigated their way thru tough conference play and still may be left off without a marquee OOC win. Look at Clemson this year, the win over Aggie looks better and better. UCF has nothing like that to compare.

If they dont like it, they should play a tougher schedule.

Cool.

UCF has earned it.

Is it? I mean, I know that's what they tell you on ESPN, but is that really what happens? They're 0-5 if that's really their goal.

So should Alabama. And Clemson. And Notre Dame.

It's not as though being a conference champion has prevented other teams from getting in. Unless UCF wants to move to a bigger conference, their best bet is to go independent and schedule games in the ND mold.

There's a difference between the cupcake schedule ND had and the cupcake schedule UCF had and it's pretty damn big. That's what you're not acknowledging.

Now that I could get behind. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few teams do this, and I wouldn't blame them with Notre Dame's easy path. All they really need to do is win one big game and wait for everyone else on their schedule to have a down year. Then, no one can point to their conference as an inherent weakness, despite their overall weakness.

Yea I mean I agree - look at BYU's schedule. They basically play a half-AAC/MWC type schedule and then half games against average to good P5 teams.

If UCF played BYU's schedule and went undefeated, they'd be in a much better position. They wouldn't definitely get in, but they'd have much more of a chance IMHO.

- Arizona
- Cal
- Wisconsin
- Washington
- Boise
- Utah

I mean, if you win all those games and then crush NMSU, NIU, Hawaii.............that's a pretty compelling case.

Notre Dame's schedule was 42. BYU's was 65.
