What's the deal with King? I know nothing about him. Why do LSU fans hate him?

King pulled the plug on the Jimbo hire the 1st go around, due to public perception over the amount of money we would be paying Jimbo. King was worried it would look bad to beg the state to not cut academic funding, while paying the contract for Jimbo that was already written up.

They blame King for the clownshow in 2015 when Les saved his job and we blew our best shot at Jimbo. And make no mistake, it was a complete and total clownshow.

Honestly, I lay most of the blame on:
Alleva for having zero spine and not telling F. King to let him do his job or else fire me.
Jindal for creating the extreme budget mess in the first place.

F. King was repping the academic side of things. May cost him his job but he's passionate about state funding of public universities.

I'm in the minority. I don't think many LSU fans give two shits about the academic side of things. I'd like my alma mater to do well at both academics and athletics.

Correct.

Add to that Jindal hardlegging for Les Miles.

Alleva was fired because he would not fire Wade.

Woodward's first order of business will be to do what Alleva would not do.

Fire Wade.

There were emails from a FOIA request from LSU posted. That’s about as true as you can get.

It was reported that F. King agreed with decision to reinstate Wade.

Surely the board concurred.

This isn't a troll thread. Troll elsewhere.

So, F.King has been pulling the purse strings but LSU fans hate Alleva because he had to do what his boss told him. Sounds fricked!

I can only name a handful of universities where the AD has carte blanche without much influence from the President. Alabama, Auburn, Florida.

You hire an AD to do his goddamn job, mainly to hire the best coaches he can and keep the NCAA at bay.

Woodward is leaving A&M in no small part because of grief he got from their Chancellor when he should've been thanking him for home run hires.

Woodward can deal with all the politics at LSU and in Baton Rouge because he literally was a political consultant and legislative liaison in Baton Rouge. He was born for this job.

Rule of parsimony says they would have just fired Wade anyways, if that were the case. Obviously Wade isn't going anywhere - unless an investigation really happens.

I will say I do find it odd that they kept JA on staff and the new AD took that job in a not so clear time. I'm just saying, if I were the new guy, I'd say sure, but wouldn't sign anything until this Wade stuff is completely over, which is a matter of days iirc.

Yep, if Alexander is done, the choice was obvious.

Michael Young stays almost completely out of the Athletic Side, it's that micromanaging fricktard John Sharp who caused this.

This is what happens when a SYSTEM CHANCELLOR is way too hands-on with the flagship campus...and it gets worse: If Sharp leaves...Rick Perry takes over.

F. King will be the second departure from LSU in the near future to help LSU with its NCAA inquiry involving OLOL once the DOJ indictments become public. King's firing won't have a thing to do with Will Wade but it provides the necessary cover.
