Everyone says Florida is overrated so does that make them not overrated but underrated?

This Florida teams reminds me of some of the better UF teams if the past ~7 or so years.

Solid no doubt. But lacking in areas that would otherwise allow them to be serious contenders. Like, I don’t think UF is a serious playoff contender at all.

Maybe they end up with a record that looks like they were close. But in reality they weren’t close at all. You know what I mean?

Say UF sand Alabama both end the season with 2 losses. And say UF is even capable of beating Alabama. Knowing that and from what I see right now, is still feel like Alabama was truly a playoff contender because of the way the team is built. I guess I just don’t think UF’s offense will give them any shot of doing what they need to do to make the playoff or the SECCG.

You’re going to need genius this Saturday.. it’s more about Auburn because they are the better football team right now. Auburn looks to be catching their stride. While the defense of UF will keep it close, a late turnover will ultimately be the doom, while Auburn pounds the rock to seal the deal.

Under and Auburn covers with the score 27-20.

No because they are overrated. They are in trouble here because AU is strong where they are weak, on both LOS. AU wins in spite of making some mistakes.

I think it is like this.

There are some serious concerns about depth and personnel at key positions.

But there is also a ton of confidence in Mullen's coaching ability. Particularly, he has proven good at masking and minimizing the impact of deficiency.

Bottom line, things will only be looking up for Florida, especially once Mullen has the players he wants versus the ones he is having to accommodate.

We really don't know much about Florida. They looked shaky vs a below average Miami team and really haven't played anyone.
Auburn has the better resume.
I think we'll know much more about both teams after Saturday. Florida has it's usual stout defense so the Auburn offense has its work cut out for them. Florida actually looks better with Trask at QB but he'll face a different beast in Auburn's D.
Ratinsg mean nothing at this point.

Overrated bc AP top 10 but didn’t smash Miami or KY. And got no run game.

AU has a run game & found its passing game. Their DL is superior. Trash in trouble. This is the first of 3 maybe 4 regular season Ls.

UF has a good team. UF's season really depends on how far the O has progressed under Trask. The D will keep you in a lot of games.

Right. And I say that as someone whose team is most certainly not close at the moment.

This has all the trappings of one of those Florida teams that wins 9-10 games and makes a really nice bowl but has enough serious flaws that a top team rolls over them. Mind you, that isn't an insult, I'd cheerfully take a deeply flawed Arkansas team that manages to win 10 games. Hell, I'd take one that wins 6 games at this point.

I'd give Mississippi state a good chance of being undefeated with the schedule the gators have to this point

So our defensive line is weak?

News to me...it's been far better than your teams at getting TFL's and sacks...

They’re not really overrated because they’re an undefeated SEC team that sits in the 7-9 range of the top 10. Polls have placed them in a position to rise once they beat the good teams coming up on their schedule, or they’ll fall if they lose. But at 5-0 there’s no one in front of them they deserve to be ahead of and no one behind them that deserves to be ahead.

Unless we find a way to generate a running game...I agree
