I honestly miss the old bowl system. AP, UPI polls and the arguments after bowl season who really was number 1.

I wish we could but you're right. That ship has sailed. Will never be back.

Who the hell can afford to go to all these games

I think most of us could but most of us also don't want to spend our money on that garbage anymore.

I can't get a better view of any game beyond my TV. My drinks and food are beyond what you could ever get even at MB stadium in Atlanta (my brother assures me they have a great spread of food there).

Agreed. But we are addicted

12 best would not include them, so I don't see how a lawsuit would succeed. DEI is out.

People seem to forget 2004 Auburn. First and only team in sec history not given the chance to play for the championship.

That season put the whole thing in motion. Bama LSU rematch was the final nail in the coffin.

And as far as why the g5 is in it? 2007 Fiesta Bowl. Ask Oklahoma fans. I’m sure they remember. That game gave the “little guy” a voice

I wouldn’t have wanted to play us either.

Given that historic arse kicking that was definitely true.

Based on the outcome of the championship game, it should've been Alabama vs Oklahoma State.

The reason I feel bad for Oklahoma State on that is that the game they lost that kept them out was a night game at Iowa State. They lost because their FG kicker missed a kick by six inches.

But that afternoon they had just found out that the women's basketball coach a couple of other OSU officials and boosters had been killed in a plane crash.

And this was a school that had lost part of their men's basketball program in a plane crash eleven years before that.

I am not sure how much it affected them in that game... but I don't think it helped.

Especially when those guys knew that they were boarding a flight home in the middle of the night after the game was over.

All well and good but what were you gonna do with USC and Oklahoma that year? They both started in front of Auburn and won all their games as well…why should either of those teams have been penalized to make way for Auburn?

Strength of schedule dumb arse. The SEC has been and still get shitty 3 loss teams in based off strength of conference schedule. If the Roll Tahd was undefeated in 2004 all you would have heard about was how great the SEC was….instead shitty schedule OU and USC got in.

Is this a 21-0 thing?

It's a 21-0 thing, isn't it?
nope

It's a "SEC wins every year, and now they're getting 2 teams in the title game" thing. Anyone with a brain knew the rest of CFB, particularly the Big 10, wouldn't stand for that being allowed to continue. The SEC was making the rest of the NCAA irrelevant and that had to change.

Alabama wasn’t the wrong team in that NCG, LSU was.
