I'm still occasionally surprised by the superlatives from Nick Saban's tenure.
With the current state of college football, we might continue to look back on his accomplishments in this era and realize they were actually quite astounding.

These are flawed because they are using time of game ranking instead of final season ranking.... it significantly over-inflates the actual number of ranked opponents played by each team.
For example, Alabama is getting credit for beating a #16 ranked Arkansas team in 2016 that went on to finish 7-6 and nowhere near the Top 25. Why should Bama get credit for playing the overrated Hogs early but Missouri get zero credit for beating the same team late in the season?
The actual totals for each team using FINAL season rankings:
.719- Alabama (46-18)
.650- Georgia (39-21)
.491- Oklahoma (27-28)
.404- Ole Miss (19-28)
.382- LSU (21-34)
.333- Texas (18-36)
.234- Texas A&M (11-36)
.229- Tennessee (11-37)
.216- Florida (11-40)
.211- Auburn (12-45)
.180- S Carolina (9-41)
.163- Kentucky (7-36)
.143- Arkansas (7-42)
.132- Missouri (5-33)
.125- Miss State (6-42)
.048- Vanderbilt (2-40)

Bama and Georgia should have an asterisk since they were both paying big NIL to players before all the other teams were.

The crazy thing about looking at this list is the disparity of games played against ranked opponents.... weeding out the postseason games to get a true comparison.
Number of regular season ranked opponents played during the playoff era:
50- Auburn
48- Arkansas
47- LSU
47- South Carolina
46- Mississippi State
45- Texas A&M
44- Florida
43- Tennessee
43- Texas
43- Oklahoma
42- Ole Miss
41- Vanderbilt
39- Georgia
39- Kentucky
38- Alabama
35- Missouri
The absolute gift of a schedule the SEC has been handing to Missouri for the past 11 seasons is unreal. They somehow left the Big 12 to come to the SEC and had it easier. At some point, the whole " We can't play ourselves" argument is true when you see Bama and Georgia near the bottom, but Missouri doesn't have that excuse.... Mizzzou and Kentucky both have been gifted easier SEC schedules plus they both go out of their way to play the softest OOC power opponent possible.
One great thing about the 9-game schedules is we'll finally all be closer to playing similar SOS in conference play.
