This.
Looks like a much better shooting team, but the low post is a serious concern at this time.
Outside chance CMB comes back, if his NBA draft grade isn't good enough.

Portal Moser doing work
We lost Fears to NBA. Fully expected no surprise.
But just yesterday Portal pulled 2 players out of portal and 1 is best at his position the other 3rd best at his. It appears Trae Young donating $1m to BB program plus being named Asst BB GM helped.
Got some “I’m returning” announcements yesterday too.
I think we’ll be much better. Fears was great but had a huge slump early/mid conference schedule. Problem with bringing in a bona fide young star is you pretty much can’t bench them. This costs games. And everything runs through them so to a degree you get less team ball. He was a great teammate so not taking away just saying its hard to manage. Without him they will likely play more team ball and be more rounded.
Portal transfers committed Monday:
Forward Tae Davis from Notre Dame
(#3 SF available at the time of his commitment according to 247Sports)
The 6-9 junior averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game this season
Guard Nijel Pack from Miami
(#1 PG available at the time of his commitment according to 247Sports)
Pack averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 45.4% from the field and 38.6% from three in nine games for the Hurricanes before injury

Unless we strike some gold with a couple big men in the portal, I’m pretty sure we’ll take a big step back.
Of course we are going to take a step back from being the overall #1 seed.
I expect next years team to be more like BP’s teams from 5 years ago - smaller, higher scoring, less half and more full court game.
We will still be a very good team as we always are under BP. Top 5 SEC no matter who is on roster.

We lose a lot of experienced players and our roster is a very fluid situation.
Pettiford and Scott are two I think will come back. Howard may come back.
It's possible that CBM and Chaney come back. I have heard some speculation that DJ might be able to come back too. I sure hope so. We have some interesting guys coming in, including Keyshawn Hall and Abdul Bashir plus some solid freshmen.
We really need some bigs and I'm sure they will be BP's primary focus. It is very doubtful that we will win the regular season conference crown and be back in the Final Four, but I think BP will create a team that is capable of making the NCAAT.
Aside from a need for bigs, we will need leadership. Losing Broome, Cardwell and CMo. is a big blow in that regard. Pettiford can be a leader and so can CBM.

Bama might be better...bigs that can shoot the three and make Florida come out to play them will allow the guards to drive and not have to worry about Condon and those other monsters parking in the lane.

I think OU is going to get that 6'10" guy too. I think Porter finally figured out we need some height!
Waygue and Forsythe are back too. Plus Nwankwo and a 6'11" Freshman

Kentucky will be the preseason favorite if JQs recovery goes well.
They are loaded. One more SG in the portal and they might be preseason top 3

You don't think our 7'9 weirdo will start after redshirting this year?

Yep, one more piece. That's assuming we don't lose anyone already here.

No chance he starts assuming most/all of our frontcourt is back. I doubt he'd start no matter who comes back.
He might get a few mins a game next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play much at all again but we'll see. He was/is incredibly raw, slow, and had poor conditioning (just natural for a guy that size).

Golden already said he likely won’t play a major role next year, but said he anticipates possibly the year after if Rioux sticks with the program and continues to build his body and get his conditioning up

Hogs really need to get that big from FSU Malique Ewin. If we miss on him I'm going to start getting really worried about our big situation. If we can get him and another banger/rebounder down low I like our chances to make another deep run if we keep everyone else that hasn't declared or hit the portal already

I was looking at some of the rosters this morning, and wanted to know more about 'Bucky Ball'. A&M has ONE player returning. I guess they are going to be Samford West ...
I expect LSU, and Arkansas to be better. Should be interesting to see Pope's second year as well

That depends on who Arkansas gets in the portal.

One area with ZERO worries is the portal and recuriting with Cal...
We will be more than fine. Dude took the job with NO TEAM and did a sweet 16 with a limited roster and injuries.
Just watch!
