Here's my short analysis.

West:

1) Saban -- Best coach of all time. About to win bammer's 27th (or is it 28th) NC.

2) Orgeron -- While a likeable fella, he had a .286 winning percentage at Ole Miss. How have LSU fans forgotten this little fact? I never expected him to get the job, but the coaching talent around America is bad this year, so I guess I can't really blame LSU for waiting another year to make a real hire.

3) Malzahn - Lol. His offense worked for a while, until everyone copied it and then got good at defending it. He is a non-factor in the SEC now. Other coaches (like Kiffin) took his system and do it much better. I feel sorry for Kevin Steele who is doing major work on D. He sounded so depressed after the game.

4) Freeze -- A good coach, but he isn't very good at cheating. (I mean what coach makes one of their assistants the bagman?) At AU, our bagmen are so good that not even FBI forensic accountants can trace it. At bammer, the bagmen are typically not associated with the program -- they are car dealerships, real estate agents, lawyers, and Menswear shop owners. They have the entire system gamed so well that even John Gotti would be jelly. Anyway, Freeze could have been Ole Miss's GOAT, but he got caught trying to play the rest of the SEC's cheating game. That's too bad, really. Ole Miss is going to be irrelevant for about the next decade due to sanctions.

5) Mullen -- Will be good for a 9 win season every 3 years. With an NFL QB he can make some noise in the league. How often will MSU land one of those? Not often. I hate Mullen as a person, but I feel bad for him professionally. He is coaching at a place not worthy of his talents. Not saying he is a top 5 coach nationally, but he is better than MSU.

6) Bulumea - Perhaps the worst coach in the West, and that's saying something.

7) Sumlin -- He is sorta like Gus and is very inconsistent. Looks great at times, but the bottom always falls out. He is sort of at the "in-between" position right now (just like Gus). He is under performing, but he isn't just absolutely terrible. It will be hard to fire him unless a huge name in coaching becomes available.

East:

1) McElwain -- He isn't going to bring back the UF glory days. Sorry, he's just not. Spurrier may have lost to FSU, but he wouldn't get blown-out (and he would still have the SEC trophy that year anyway). Same with Meyer. Mac might win the crappy East here and there, but he's never going to beat bammer in the SECCG (bammer is going to be the West rep in the SECCG for at least the next 5 years).

2) Kirby Smart -- Meh. I think his first season was a disappointment. The best team he beat was KY. He lost to Vandy, almost lost to an FCS school, lost to a terrible UT, and just got beaten by the mighty Yellow Jackets and their 1982 offense. I think he will improve, but I see his ceiling being 10 wins and I don't see him getting 10 wins every season like Richt. Overall, not terrible, but a downgrade from Richt, imo.

3) Muschamp -- He was hot and cold this year. Most disappointing was how he got utterly shite on by Clemson. Yes, Clemson is a far better team, but it wasn't even competitive. On a positive note, I still think his first season was a bigger success than his best friend Kirby's (when you consider how much talent UGA has and how little USCe has). Still I would not be jumping up and down if I were a big cock fan (I am not a big cock fan -- not that there's anything wrong with it).

4) Butch Jones -- Turrible, just turrible. I feel really sorry for UT having to deal with that mess. On the other hand, I do have to thank UT for lifting my spirits during our troubling times down on the plains. Whenever I think Gus does something retarded (like using our FB as a QB against bammer), I can just look to Butch Jones to do something even dumber. And at least Gus doesn't pretend to be Confucious at his press conferences.

5) Mizzou's head coach (I honestly don't know his name). What is there to say? That program has dropped like a rock since Pinkel's retirement and the SJW crazies taking over campus. Mizzou are the bottom feeders in the East and probably the worst team in the entire SEC. Their offense is atrocious which is kind of surprising to me.

6) Derek Mason -- Props to him for actually getting some wins at Vandy. Yes, he beat some horrible East teams, but he is still winning at VANDY. Only a few coaches have done that.

7) Mark Stoops -- He deserves SEC COTY. Yes, the East sucks, but he turned around a crappy early season and did work to finish strong. His is the best coaching job in the SEC this season and it's not even close. However, I still think Muschamp and Kirby are going to turn out more successful at USCe and UGA. KY is still KY and it's going to be hard to get past that for any coach.

Conclusion:

The SEC is crap. The best coaches coach for the worst programs. The top programs (except bammer) have below average to terrible coaches. Sadly for us, there just aren't any obvious coaches out there to take over for the AU's, the LSU's or the UT's. I mean who would you hire?

Nobody copied the Wing-T high school offense Gus is running.

They copied the power spread offenses being run elsewhere around the country with actual success.

I think Saban finally gets another COY award this year.

He doesn't deserve it. Not because he is doing bad, but because it is expected he will win every game. It is unfair to give it to him because that would be like giving the elementary school's arithmetic award to a PhD in mathematics when the award is supposed to be going to the 3rd grader who best learned his multiplication tables.

Please, the award should be given to the children, not the teacher.

Gus's offense is the power spread. I mean that's what he does and he was the first in the SEC to do it.

It's just he doesn't do it well anymore. Other coaches are doing it better and have much better QB's.

Hell yes he deserves it. Show me ONE coach who won all the games he was supposed to this season.

Stoops did well. He also lost to Southern Miss and blew a 30 point lead in doing it.

Not sure where you copied/pasted from, but it's stupid.

I feel like you wrote this whole essay just to say,

If State can somehow get a kicker and get a defense that can be in the middle of the pack, they can compete for 2nd place in the west.

Georgia is a dumpster fire this year, but Smart is not judged until he's three years into his tenure. Everyone seems to be crap this year except Alabama. It has been total chaos.

Nick Saban might be the greatest collegiate coach ever not named Wooden. What he has built at Bama is unreal and the fact that he can maintain it with such efficiency is superhuman. You can usually see dynasties flare out after 3-4 seasons once a key player leaves or exhaustion/sanctions set in (USC in the mid 2000s, Miami in the early 2000s, UGA in the early 80s, Nebraska in the mid 90s, etc). This thing Saban has been doing at Bama has gone on for 8 years and it only looks like it has sped up.

Nice read, funny too, thumbs up, even with the little jab at Bama's nattys:)

I too do not know name of Mizzou HC, lol. As I've stated several times, I've always thought Mizzou was an awful choice to join the SEC, not because of recent record, but the whole culture and geography thing.

I haven't researched it, but I am pretty sure Coach O has the worst coaching record in the SEC, not BB.

I'm not willing to go this far...Gus' offense works well when we have a dual threat QB, which inexplicably, Gus didn't recruit for 2 years. If we had even a marginal option at backup QB we beat UGA and Clemson. That said, it is on Gus that we DONT have that option right now. His seat gets pretty hot next year if he doesn't shore up the QB position.

Funny, weren't we leading the conference in rushing yards and top 5 nationally in rushing offense only a few weeks ago?

But now that our starting qb is out, who wasnt that good to begin, our offense struggles? Wow, huge revalation.

So did you feel this way about our offense when we were top 5 rushing in the country a few weeks ago?

Mullen-55
Freeze-20
Explain that Egg Bowl scoreboard?

Also, the Mizzou offense is far from horrible.

Clearly you didn't do any homework
