List is shite.

My top ten would be

1. 04 USC
2. 01 Miami
3. 95 Nebraska
4. 05 Texas
5. 08 Florida
6. 15 Bama
7. 18 Clemson
8. 12 Bama
9. 03 LSU
10. 99 FSU

LSU (2) - 66, 102
I can guarantee you there haven't been anywhere close to 65 teams who would have been beaten the 2011 LSU team.

Your title says teams, they also did one on programs yesterday

List is crap, this is the #1 if they are doing specific teams and specific years

#1 the "Iron Men" of Sewanee! LINK

Show me another CFB team who accomplished near as much in a single season!

You cannot convince me, no matter what, that there are 40 teams that would have beaten college Cam Newton. Just aint happening.

Wow, that list is terrible.

However, it's not ranked as best teams head to head but

quote:

rank the 150 greatest college football single-season teams of all time.

Most of the older teams from the 70 and earlier would get waxed by the past 15 champs.

2011 Bama at 51 is terrible
2010 AU at 41 is terrible
2004 AU at 57 is terrible

Both of those teams would beat the snot out of half the teams ahead of them.

Again, list is shite.

No time travel allowed, best means best by what they had to play with at the time.

On a side note, Walker played the early 80's and even pushing 60 that dude looks like he could still play today. Man is a freak of nature.

Which 2011 team?

Pre-Jefferson or post-Jefferson?

There were 4 or 5 teams in 10 that almost beat him, including 2 that would have if not for that Auburn luck.

2010 Auburn are one of the worst national championship team ever.

I suspect 95 Nebraska isn't #1 because of Lawrence Phillips. ESPN gonna SJW.

How is 2004 USC at #2? Don't get me wrong. They were really, really good but they had a bunch of close games that year. No way they were better than 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami.

I'd have '95 Nebraska and '71 Nebraska as 1a and 1b (both have very good arguments for #1)...

But 2001 Miami had a couple of real close games as well; both Boston College and Virginia Tech had 'em on the ropes late. They also only played one team that finished in the top 10 and that was the #8 Nebraska team they beat in the BCS, perhaps the worst team to make a championship game (also the first team to play for the championship without winning their division). '01 Miami gets mentioned primarily because of all the players they put in the NFL; granted, they may have had the most individual talent ever but that doesn't necessarily make 'em the best team.

Wow, that is a terrible list. Alabama, UF, AU,LSU and UGA 1985 had some great teams that would have demolished several of the those top 10 teams

And 2011 LSU would Slaughter 90% of those teams even the modern era ones. Obviously you cant compare teams before integration.

While it’s too large of a disparity, one of those teams did go undefeated and the other did not.

These types of rankings are idiotic. One 30 year old asshat making opinions about temas that lined up 40 years ago. frick That.

I like the all time AP ranking. That is a lot more objective, even though polls themselves are subjective. That subjectivity is less of a factor over time.
