Tennessee couldn’t get within 4 TDs of Mizzou last year. Mizzou is even better now. Tennessee isn’t.

Oregon is overrated imo. I also want to see our defense in action before anointing them contenders. We definitely have the offense for it but we have to replace a lot on D

I would take UGA, OSU and Bama vs the field. In that order, probably.

Bama?

You realize that LSU has better championship odds, playoff odds, SEC championship odds and is favored to beat you, right?

They won’t even be a top 10 team.

For a while this off-season I have felt the champion will come out of those top 4 teams. I’d give pretty good odds to anybody who wanted the field against those four.

Saban is gone. You’re going back to 8-4 seasons for a while

Tennessee will actually have an elite offense against and a vastly improved secondary. I promise you won't stay within two scores of us this upcoming year. Milton wasn't beating anyone decent last year.

According to Vegas the top 5 teams in title odds are UGA, OSU, Texas, Oregon and LSU.

It’s funny that DeBust has been at Bama for a few months and they by Vegas:

1. Are picked to win less games than LSU
2. Worse National and SEC odds
3. Favored to lose head to head
4. Worse odds to make the Playoff

Oh and worse recruiting

It would have to be in the SEC championship or playoffs because Mizzou isnt on UTs schedule this year.

Bolded teams don't have enough elite talent to win a title.

Ole Miss is right on the

Agree. I also think Texas needs at least one year of SEC play before they are really going to know what it takes in preseason and strength & conditioning. Let alone daygame coaching.

They have a lot of talent and a good staff but do not believe anyone in that program really understands what a gaunlet the SEC is. You cannot have down weeks like the Big 12 and barely pull out wins like last year against subpar teams like Houston team, Kansas and TCU.

Just saying. Be interesting for sure to see how the transition unfolds. Sark certainly has had his eyes on that prize.

Not in this order but give me Tennessee, LSU, Miami, Clemson, and Oklahoma over Utah and probably all over Penn St too

That pretty much covers everybody that is anybody. I agree, Michigan is going to implode this season under new management. Oregon is a program that has not taken the next step. The B1G is a big step up the ladder. I don't think so. I put Ole Miss in the same boat as Penn State. Fun to talk about but the hype is always greater than the results. And please, this Notre Dame stuff every frickin' year. Freeman is shipping in these big transfer portal QBs every year to go with a good recruiting class but it is past time to figure out how to get to the payoffs. So much hype, so few results.

Tier 1
Georgia
Ohio State

Tier 2
Texas
Alabama
Oregon

Tier 3
Everyone else

Here is the tricky part.

IMO, the Tier 2 teams are the only teams that have a realistic chance of beating Georgia or Ohio State. The talent gap is just too wide for anyone else.

If both can be knocked out, then the whole field is in play.

As an example, Texas can beat anyone or lose to anyone.

The Tier 3 teams need the Tier 2 teams to knock out the Tier 1 teams.. then they all have a chance.. if that makes sense.

A 12 team playoff means a #12 team has 2% chance

A 4 team playoff means a #12 team has 0% chance

Explain why Alabama is in tier 2 and LSU is not?
