I forgot about the whole element of playing QB wherein it’s just you alone versus 11 other guys, making your level of competition the most important thing.

I mean its pretty damn important

And this is where I see myself out of this nonsensical debate.

Link doesn’t work. Alabama with the amount of freshman they played last year with the Saban effect will have as good if not better. Then you got Florida Auburn and Clemson. Your telling me your defense is better than all those teams??

The link works fine. It’s Bill Connelly’s projected rankings based on advanced stats. It projects Georgia to give up 6.4 PPG, with the next closest in the SEC being Auburn at 14.2.

SummerofGeorge has been posting stats all month showing Georgia returns the most production on a defense that already finished #1.

Most Bama, LSU, and even some Auburn fans have conceded that Georgia will clearly have the best defense this year.

Are you serious right now?

It was 7.9 >7.4

60.9% > 60.8%

Really grasping at straws now there.

Yes, I grasped a handful of straws that support my claim.

Meanwhile. You grasped the only straw that supports your claim.

Fromm had pretty clean pockets all season, while Wake's line couldn't hold water. Newman really didn't have a clean pocket against a P5 opponent all season, but he still showed good poise, arm strength, and accuracy. If you switched the two last season Fromm would have looked much worse at Wake - much worse.

Gonna inject some facts from our friends at Sports Info Solutions

Pressure Rate Rankings vs P5 Teams Last Year
Jake Fromm -17th
Jamie Newman - 35th
for context
Trevor Lawrence - 55th

3.2 YPA ain’t bad when sacks are included

Fromm was in negative YPA iirc

Not a stat, not to mentioned it’s cancels out with wake forest, so it remains 5-1 in favor of Newman.

I'm happy with LSU at 8th. We have a lot of talent, but it's inexperienced and at a lot of critical positions.

I actually think Texas in week 2 is going to be tough. Ehlinger is back and I think they will be better than last season and LSU will still be acclimating a lot of new starters.
