quote:

1. Alabama running backs

The Sugar Bowl was widely forgettable in the Crimson Tide’s recent run of success, but the prideful legion of fans could at least take away that the already strong running back position got even stronger with freshman Derrick Henry’s nine-touch, 161-yard, two-touchdown performance.

Put Henry’s size and speed with similarly gifted runners T.J. Yeldon and Kenyan Drake and you have the No. 1 position group in college football.

If there’s such a thing as a quiet 1,200-yard, 14-TD season, Yeldon had it as a sophomore. Drake added 700 yards and eight scores. Henry was seldom used until the bowl.

If you're an insider, you can read the rest of the article and tell us how the rest of the rankings look. I just knew the SEC Rant would love to hear about how great Alabama's running backs are.

As a whole group it would be hard to argue against that statement.

I'd probably go with UGA, except for the durability/injury prone issues of Gurley and Marshall...

Him and that other scrub that averaged over 6 yards a carry, and that other scrub that was SEC Championship game MVP as a freshman

ETA:I dont know who is better between ARKY, BAMA, LSU, UGA

Surely, this will garner a positive response on the SECRant. All things Alabama are thoroughly enjoyed and welcome.

Lsu is pretty light in the backfield this year. Hopefully Hilliard reaches his potential.

Preseason, yeah. If Georgia's two frosh get a chance to develop (though I doubt they will except in garbage time), the rankings could be very interesting by the end of the season.

That can't be. They don't even have the best RBs in the conference.

Misleading title.

Travis Haney ranks Alabama RBs as the best position group in America. In his blog.

Maybe it tells us how good Henry looked good in 1 game against a mostly undersized Big12 defense?
