Nebraska was cut off from the state of Texas, their lifeblood, that was their biggest downfall.

While this was true in the 2000s... For a long time they were winning with a team of almost all Yankee players.

Their 1971 team was arguably there best ever. It had only one Texan on it. And ironically that was Joe Jamail's (formerly the namesake of the Texas football field) son.

Texas forced Nebraska into giving up Prop 48 kids when forming the Big XII. Once the last Prop 48 class “graduated,” Osborne announced his retirement. That is a significant factor for their status 25 years later.

If they are it’s for totally different reasons. USC’s administration is what would cause them to implode.

As much as I would love to see it, no way they fall to the depths of the nubs. They are too close to texas recruits.

No. Nebraska is a cautionary tale to the entire SEC. Here Texas comes.

You mean the Texas that has NEVER beaten an SEC team in a title game? Do not worry, neither has Oklahoma

No. Nebraska is a cautionary tale to the entire SEC. Here Texas comes.

The Legendary head coach at Nebraska, Frank Osborne, once said it is damn near impossible to win the Big 12 because you have to beat both Texas and OU to do it.

I think they both destroyed Nebraska (as a powerhouse), but mostly Texas did it. They had a winning record over them big time when they were in the Big 12, and seemed to beat them even when Texas were underdogs a few times. It was sweet because they blamed Texas for everything, all of their problems in football.

They weren’t as good as Nebraska historically but they’ll fall similarly. They don’t have the partial qualifier issue, but their days of winning one big game to win the conference are over.

Weren’t as good as Nebraska historically? Are you insane?

No. Your dependence on the absolute dumbest athletes of Texas for your titles is laughable. Kids who couldn’t spell OU were allowed to enter college in the state of Oklahoma. Refute that. You can’t. You wish you were Nebraska.

Gaw it’s so weird to have such a planned organized hub of schools and communities? It’s kinda cool but I’m so used to the inconsistent and haphazard way of things in Louisiana (absent those new developments.

Colin Cowherd,

I stopped listening to anything he said, when he went on on rant saying New Orleans should never have a Super Bowl, because there were no good restaurants or hotels downtown.
A million reasons to talk trash about New Orleans, but those are probably top 2 of reasons not to.
