There is this thing called “marketing” that makes the case to do things that generate the most interest.
They have a 3 hour show to fill, and a good chunk of it is local interest of that week’s venue. Retreading covered ground flies in the face of that.
It’s a TV show, not a reward.

A lot of Rust Belt cities are. Many have amazing history and interesting architecture. Can also have some unique takes on food. Requires a certain threshold of gentrification and refurb to appreciate it, and not all have reached that point.
They can also have more urban blight than southern cities, just because they’re more left leaning.

I really don't have a problem with this, they don't get to Pittsburgh very often, and it is a great place to visit. That game will be packed.
