I met his momma the other day, seemed nice and she’s tall. I verified then that his aunt I used to play against in basketball and softball. She wasn’t tall but was good and took that shite seriously all the way back in grade school. I also stole the ball from her in 6th grade basketball camp. Iow, Piggi got skillz like a 4-5 star gene worthy.

I forgot to say that when I stole the ball, I drove it in for an unassisted layup.

Alabama with 4 top 100 - 3 top 50.
Arkansas with 6 top 100 - 3 top 50.
Auburn with 2 top 100 - 2 top 50.
Kentucky with 2 top 100 - 2 top 50.
Mississippi State with 1 top 100 - 0 top 50.
Missouri with 1 top 100 - 0 top 50.
Ole Miss with 3 top 100 - 0 top 50.
ESPN isn't great at the whole recruiting thing imo, but going off of memory this looks mostly in line with the 247C. Lots of talent coming into the conference again this cycle. Really happy with the trajectory of basketball in the conference over the past few years. No reason for the SEC to not be right in the middle of the best conference in the country debates.

ESPN's CBB recruiting is generally decent. It used to be the best until the last 4-5 years. It's football recruiting is garbage.

ESPN just lost one of their main guys 2-3 days ago, Adam Finklestein. He's the new Director of Scouting for 247. I'm not even sure who all ESPN has for basketball recruiting anymore tbh, I generally just pay attention to the 247C. Just my preference I guess.

Listen here football only Gump!

But for real though, the SEC is getting stronger and stronger in basketball with each passing year. Tennessee should definitely have the pull for some top 100 guys. I would expect Florida to show up with a couple of guys in the top 100 next cycle. Texas A&M should be able to get on the list. LSU will too unless they get some heavy punishment. Not crazy to think that UGA could land a top 100 in state guy as well. Missouri looks to be doing some things and moving in the right direction. I'm still unsure about what to expect from Paris at South Carolina.

Ya this class will be so-so, prob middle of SEC. The following class has some early season excitement to it, would be shocked if its not a T25 class.

If we don't land top 20 player Julian Phillps - I am going to be very disappointed in our recruiting this season. However - some of Barnes best teams were from lower recruits aka Grant and Admiral's teams. Guess we will see

Auburn still has a chance at Julian Phillips. They are possibly still not done yet with HS kids.

Those aren't 247s final rankings, though.
Dariq Whitehead was said to be the new #1 player a couple days ago.

Seems like Smith’s stock went nuclear the last 4-6 months. He went from high 4/low 5 to people saying he might be the best senior in the country. Hope he lives up to the billing.
