I haven't seen you around to tell you how right you were about Jefferson being so good and not DERPing all over the field against Bama. It was just a conclusion of the SECCG

We also dominated Ark @home and should beat them there. I don't think you watch enough SEC to know about what is going on.

I'm not saying you don't have a good shot, but I hope you see the irony in this statement.

Arkansas is also a pretty bad team who really wont have much of a chance to make the tournament.

What we've done this year is nothing short of amazing. We aren't the greatest team ever, but we're far from 'pretty bad'.

This is how I see it.

21+ regular season wins = We're in
20 regular season wins = Chance to play our way in at the SECt
19 or less regular season wins = NIT bound

We have the RPI and the Quality wins necessary for a NCAA Bid. We just need to win 1-2 road games, and win our home games, which we've done everytime so far this year.

If we make the NCAA Tourney, Mike Anderson should by COTY.

UK in Louisville, then Atlanta, then New Orleans?

Sweet Baby Jesus.

And FTR, I don't think the Big East ends up with 9 when it's all said and done. They're not nearly as strong as they were last season and there's plenty of ball left in conference to weed someone out.

they're a Top 50 RPI team and our the next best NCAA possibility (along with Arkansas) to get the 6th and final automatic NCAA bid from the SEC.

Please stop talking about basketball. The only "automatic" bids that conferences get are tournament champions. There is not a set limit on how many teams the committee has to choose from each conference.

This is ironic, to say the least, coming from the poster who thinks a 21-9 (10-6 SEC) Alabama team with a mid to high 20s RPI would be left out of the tourney.

Could it be that he simply mis-worded that phrase? Seems he may understand more about the tourney selection process than someone claiming 2 more losses ends Bama's tourney hopes.

they did generate some excitement with the NIT run.

Outside Tuscaloosa, no one gave a shite about the NIT run. Sure it was good for some extra practice, but I would easily exchange an NIT championship for a first round NCAA loss.
IIRC, immediately after Alabama lost in the NIT final to oh whatever their names are, ESPN went directly to showing some high school slam dunk contest. No Sportscenter commentary, no Game Day crew courtside.

Alabama's RPI is 34 brah. LINK

Ok ... I got carried away earlier ... If Bama loses to the only 2 remaining ranked teams on their schedule, I think they will get in. Two more bad losses and I don't think they will.

Missouri will be the first #1 seed to get knocked out by a 16 and stumble into the SEC in fine fashion.

Totally agree, but Lunardi is a NE/Big East homer. I think they get 8 max and the Big 10 gets 7 or 8.

The guy thinks that just because he has UNC Tarheels emoticon by his name that his word on the matter is gospel. It was a mis-worded phrase on my part btw. Obviously there's no such thing as multiple AUTOMATIC bids from one conference.

I just checked the latest RPI's from the CBS link and Alabama is #33, not #34. To put that in perspective, 2 SEC teams considered tourney locks Vandy and Mississippi State are #29 and #31 respectively. Alabama needs to finish 9-7 to be comfortably in the tournament. I still think 8-8 will be enough but it won't be a comfortable selection Sunday at that mark. We'd also be flirting with the play in game at 8-8.

It's actually going extremely well! Thanks for asking. Despite being the youngest team I remember for quite some time, and having our best player out for the season, we are doing better than we have for the last 3 years, and have a shot to make the tournament under Mike's first year as head coach. In addition, we see the type of recruiter Mike is as shown by Missouri's stacked team.

It's a great time to be a Hog fan!

A thing to remember about Lunardi (AKA Cartman). He almost NEVER gets the seeds right.
