Nola & Beede went head-to-head and it was a sight to see with LSU getting a 2-out 4 run rally in the 8th to win 4-2.

Not sure how anything can top this game. This game was billed as the best pitching matchup of the season and the two pitchers somehow exceeded expectations.

He really doesn't deserve the loss.

He was fantastic. Defense really let him down.

Would have been a tough one for either the way both pitched tonight. Hell of a match up.

Nola was still amazing but Congrats to Vandy for being ones to break his 54 inning streak without an earned run... time to start a new one!

Agreed.

I will say though both are great in their own right. Beede gave LSU hitters hell. He's almost impossible to hit.

Nola gave up some hits, but 12 (should've really been 13) k's.

It's a damn shame this wasn't on TV. Two greats.

Why this was not on tv is beyond me. It's a damn shame that basketball gets all the hype over baseball in the sec. Outside of Florida, this league is a steaming pile.

I know how people love pitching matchups, but if I'm Vandy's coach Tim Corbin, I would have saved Beede for Saturday vs Kyle Bouman. Thus putting pressure on LSU's Sunday starter Jared Poche' to win the series for LSU.

I like Vandy's chances with Jared Miller going tomorrow.

I'm definitely not a negatiger, but I would be shocked if Vandy doesn't win at least one of the next two.

Be another great pitching duel Saturday, as both pitchers are coming in on fire.

Just saying that Jared Poche' is a true freshman and definitely the weakest of LSU's starters.

Yea that most likely gives you the best chance to win... but who is to say that LSU wouldnt have held Nola out til Saturday as well?

Plus, when you have 2 of the best pitches in the game on both teams you gotta let them go at each other. Would have made the series worse by not doing that.

Poche has better stuff than bouman. They're about equal. Both really green. LSU would run home with a split. Losing both is definitely possible.

Yeah, they should get a network for the conference or something.

I give Kyle Bouman the edge over Jared Poche' almost solely due to the fact that Bouman has been through the wars, both here and Wichita State.

That and the fact, that according to Mainieri, Bouman is "A strike-throwing machine!"
