Bowl games are not a great indicator of strength of conference. I get it all conferences deal with it. My point is I can look at the product on the field and tell you that the top teams in the big 10 are heads and shoulders better than the top teams in the sec and it’s glaringly obvious. Ole Miss made a great show of it and had a chance to win, no shame in that the difference in the game was at both LOS. Miami was far more physical and that’s what we’re seeing across the board with sec teams. Georgia is not dominant either on the LOS. We are getting out bid in the portal and it’s not close. Indiana has Mark Cuban, Miami has that Ruiz guy or whatever his name is, Oregon has Phil Nike. The biggest billionaires in America are the three teams remaining. There’s no secret to this. If you have billionaire fans you are going to be in it every year. The poorer southern states don’t have a chance.

Oregon and Miami would not have made it in under the old system. But UGA would have made it.

So 2 teams that DIDN'T win their conferences should've been in over a team that won the SEC under the old system? Is that what you're trying to say ? Great argument, it's always a pleasure to hear what the smartest guy in the room has to say.

When conferences get as big as they have gotten, it's a lot harder to know whether being a conference champion means anything because the conference schedules can be so different. So your view is that UGA is better than Oregon because they won the SEC. That's really your argument?? UGA would be the fourth best team in the Big 10 (I'll give you they are probably better than Iowa but they aren't better than Indiana, Oregon or Ohio State).

I will continue to post the SEC was limited to 85 scholarships and everyone else 105. In the portal age most if these were used on portal players with experience. You sign 20 extra players-if 10 work out thats 20 more than SEC teams have.

What's your argument that UGA is better than Indiana, Oregon and Ohio State?

Indiana beat Alabama a lot worse than UGA did (never mind the one loss).

I guess we'll see if Oregon can stay within 35 of Indiana tonight.

Ohio State was a consensus top 4 team and lost a lost closer to Indiana than Alabama did. The same Alabama that has a win over UGA.

OK you go.

Toss out the bowl games. Their meaningless exhibitions.
If we stick to what matters, half the field was SEC. In one game an SEC team was guaranteed to lose.

But the SEC will not be what it once was. Too much parity now in the league and around the country

No longer care about the “SEC”. Only LSU. Was extremely happy that OLE PISS lost last night. What does “being for the SEC” mean anymore. With NIL and the transfer portal it’s dog eat dog.

My God man, your arguments get dumber with each post. My wife could have come up with a better one than this.

UGA ended with 12 wins, and won the SEC Championship. Indiana has an argument but to say Oregon or Ohio St is any better than us is ridiculous. Ohio St got thumped by a Miami team that lost to Louisville and SMU, both of whom had 4 losses on the season. UGA had 2 losses to Bama and Ole Miss, 2 playoff teams by a combined 6 points.

I think season has shown that any argument along the lines of "we're better because we won the SEC" holds no water. See Indiana-Alabama game. I guess we'll see if Oregon can stay within 35 tonight. You are trashing Miami now? The team that beat two playoff teams from the superior SEC?

Oregon would be more than serviceable against this UGA team. This isn’t 2021 or 2022 anymore. And it never will be again. And for any Georgia fan to talk shite nowadays is Richie Rich. They were picked by most everyone in America and most people on this board to boat race Mississippi. So their tears and coping are delicious

Even if we were 8-2, the reality is the ONLY bowl games that matter are playoff games.

Everything else is exhibition at this point. So many players transfer and sit out at this point for all bowls it’s a joke.

The SEC was 12-13 and the B10 was 11-8. Basically the same when you look at who was beaten.

Playoff games are all that matters, what is the SEC’s biggest playoff win against an out of conference opponent the last few years?

Texas beating an autobid ASU in overtime? There aren’t many other options.

I think it's the lack of good coaching. Parity is coming to a head. All teams are competitive and the top 20 will eventually be within a few players if each other

When the talent advantage ends, it falls on coaches to win games. Coaching and preparation and team chemistry.

Sec coaching is at an all time low imo. Not saying any other conference is better, but it's going to take a different mentality to win nattys now. Imo coordinators are going to become more important than anything.

For instance Kirby using sabans plan of recruiting and development and stack the cupboard is over. Just not possible. Will he pivot? Who knows. The lack of great wr at UGA is pathetic. Just an example from our team

Oregon would be a betting favorite for sure against UGA on a neutral field. Same with Ohio State.

You put way too much thought into this.

The fact that Ole Miss was the last SEC team standing is embarrassing enough.
