I get it. You guys are excited and that's great. Heck, I want you guys to threaten Bama and aTm more often.

All we have to go on at this point is their time in the B10, and Bielema had a better showing in his seven seasons in the B10 than Saban did. I don't think he's a better coach, but at this point in his career, he's ahead of where Saban was at, according to their records.
To give you an idea of what Saban came into as opposed to what BB came into, in the four seasons prior to Saban's arrival Michigan State went 3-8, 5-6, 6-6, 5-6 (officially 0-11 due to an academic scandal). In the four seasons before BB took over Wisconsin, the Badgers went 8-6, 7-6, 9-3, 10-3. That's not exactly comparing apples to apples.

I would agree Bielema came into a better situation than Saban did, and I never contended he was a better coach. My OP was that he added to the all star coaching roster in the SEC, and I stand by that assertion. If you look at the last seven years he has consistently kept his team nationally relevant and I think he should be considered one of the top coaches in football. Everyone downgrading the hire doesn't know much about college football outside of their school apparently.

they may have had the easiest schedule in history in '06 and lost to their toughest opponent.
'07 lost to Penn St., OSU, and UT. beat the cupcakes
'08 lost to UM, OSU, Penn St, FL State. beat the cupcakes. went to OT with Cal Poly
'09 lost to OSU and Iowa. beat the cupcakes but finally won a bowl
'10 good year with some good wins. lost bowl again
'11 decent season. lost bowl again
'12 lost to every decent team on their schedule not named Nebraska. finished 6th in the Big10, 3rd in division
but obviously everyone that thinks it wasn't a great hire doesn't know shite about football

37-19 in the big ten isn't impressive enough to call him anything other than a decent coach in a terrible conference
Further, he runs the score up on every DII team he can get his hands on ... the guy's numbers are a complete fiction and his records against REAL teams prove it

oh please, he came into the program that barry alvarez built. wisconsin would have been nothing under bielema if alvarez didnt do all the hard lifting during his tenure. and furthermore, i would be worried that he isnt bringing paul chryst with him

In B1G play, Bielema went 23-1 against Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue and 16-18 against everybody else....so yeah, there's that.

you hired a coach from CUSA. it worked out well. We hired one who has faced better competition and is more experienced. He's way more qualified for an SEC job than Kevin Sumlin ever was.

Sumlin is 45-19 after (almost) 5 years.

Obviously Sumlin was under-qualified.
Your guy isn't qualified for an SEC west gig because he's afraid of recruiting.
That indigent mouth-breathers define "SEC ready" coaches as those who've mustered some wins via a painfully boring brand of ball is irrelevant.
Sumlin's a dude--couldn't have done better.

Mark Richt (1st 7 years) 72-19?
