How is South Carolina more desirable? They have a FAR worse history than Mizzou. They were competitive for 3 years.

How is SC a better destination?

Location, location, location.

Recruiting the top players in the south to South Carolina is a HELL of a lot easier than convincing them to go to Mizzou .

Families in Florida, Georgia, Carolinas, etc all can make it pretty easily to South Carolina within a few hours (ok, maybe not Miami players).

There are tons of players right in the area that a good coach can easily convince to go to South Carolina over Mizzou.

Not to mention, living in South Carolina is a bit, well, nicer than Missouri. Especially pigeon holed between the two shite holes of St. Louis and Kansas City.

As far as history goes (as far as recruiting goes), neither team has anything significant going for it from a football perspective.

When was the last time any of you won a conference title?

Guess it all comes down to whether he wants control of his team or the team to control him.

This can be explained away by saying Pinkel has cancer and had a temporary judgement lapse

yea he can blame Rituximab for the not so temporary lapse of reason, either way a good coach sees Mizzou as the great opportunity that it is, and realizes w/ whackjob libtard administrations, no place is going to be perfect.

if the admin doesn't force Rhoades hand in making an EEO/SJW hire he could make a good choice, and a coach smart enough not to repeat "we do what we do" infinitely, may go along way in bringing back some donor support as well.

You also have to compete against bigger name schools all around you down in SC. Herman is more familiar with the recruiting landscape up North anyway.

I know what he said. There's no way he retires mid-season like this if it wasn't for your idiot team. It's not a Flip Saunders situation. He's not going to die tomorrow.

If you didn't have all the crap going on there, you might have a chance to get a great coach.

But, you do have all the crap going on there. And, you lost key administrative personnel. The mess is a really big mess. If I were a coach in searching, I would stay away until things calm down there. Imagine trying to recruit a non-white athlete there these days. It is not a good situation at all.

I would promote the best assistant coach. Wait a year and let all of this settle down.

Protests heating up at South Carolina right now.

It gathered <100 people.

Yours shut down a school, and ended the careers of no fewer than two people.

Don't compare the two.

And for the record, I don't expect Herman to take the Carolina job. But he'd be nuts to take the Missouri job right now.

the only real difference in the two is some(a few) of the kids on our football team mistakenly threw in with the campus radicals and their ridiculous demands and trumped up charges, then got more of the team into it, so that along w/ Pinkels equally ridiculous decision to support a player walkout is what blew the whole thing up.

We all know, (those who are sentient) that Pinkels retirement announcement along w/ the cancer card are not a coincidence, it's damage control for the donors bailing on the program right now.

you have no clue what's about to happen. every liberal wanker and their dog is going to want input on this coaching hire.
i'm sure claire mccaskill's going to want to "weigh" in, "why not a woman or a transgender coach!"

"why are we paying 4 million a year for a coach and 42,000 for an associate professor of gender studies!"

who ever they hire will be their guy and then winning and losing doesn't matter just what ever advances their agenda. i would remind you these are the people that can't bring themselves to utter the words islamic terrorist.

coaches good ones at least like stability in their administrators, you just fired your over a hoax and replaced your school president with a black activist.

i feel for you man i really do, but the time too have stood up to this was two weeks ago and it started with pinkle and he was a massive failure in this regard.

There's nothing wrong with student protests. I don't know anything about the one in SC, but the problem in Mizzou is that it was completely unwarranted and the football team got sucked into it.
