He ain’t gonna catch Alabama and Georgia either.

Invite them into the SEC then.

TCU’s Sonny Dykes on Horned Frogs having to end season w/9 consecutive conference games w/out an open date. “We’re not gonna catch The Citadel in week 10 (like other conferences). We had Texas”
One could certainly argue about which approach is more advantageous for poll standings and such.

A coach that plays a school called Tarleton has no room to discus anyone else’s schedule.

You're kidding, right? Ask your BOY Nick Satan about following the rules in the B10 Conference! In the B10, minus the illegal recruiting and the $100,000 dollar handshakes, he was like Ritchie fukking Kotite coaching the Sparty Broomheads! No advantages whatsoever. Average coach.
Put him in Alabama with unlimited funding and unlimited booster money and unchecked recruiting violations, he's great...see the difference? At any rate, it's over for your boy. Buying recruits will not win him titles anymore, nor will it help the rest of the teams in the sec cheating the system!

Read what he said again and pay attention when you're reading it.
He's specifically talking about having to end the season with 9 consecutive games without any open dates and no OOC cupcakes on their schedule during that stretch. It's a valid point whether you like it or not.

I love Sonny, but this is disingenuous. The SEC is much more physical week in and week out.
Having a "bye" late in the season allows SEC teams to rest and heal instead of playing a physical team "week in and week out."
Just an observation on one game, but Tech physically beat the shite out of Ole Miss, outside of the the two targeting calls.

They played Baylor (6-7) and Iowa State (4-8) before losing to Kansas State.
Let’s not pretend like they finished the season with nothing but top 25 teams. Conference games are much easier when you’re playing losing teams.

Please. That Texas Tech team physically punished OM last night. Night and day.
That once could be said of the SEC when CFB was based on the LOS. Offenses have moved away from the LOS. It’s now more about coaching schemes and effort.

There are very few teams that followed the rules. They just couldn't compete money wise, and some still won't be able to compete in the NIL game. There are some teams that will benefit from NIL in place, but not like you're thinking.

their argument is that the SEC gets a "break" late in the season with a cupcake before rivalry week.

Nice cherry pick!

Here's their final 9 opponents, which is what Dykes actually said, that you weren't man enough to post.
There is no Citadel, or anything close to Citadel, present on their final 9 games, or any bye week, like he said.

And it’s begging the question why does the week matter? I thought you people were supposed to be smarter than us

You see no advantage playing Citadel late in the season as compared to early in the season?
