Texas aTm's endowment has always been managed in Austin a few blocks from UT
I think UT's endowment currently is around $25-30 Billion more than aggy

2x Texas Ex checking in. Wife went to both ATM and UT, kids went to ATM, one may go on to UT grad school.
The Texas endowment number includes all of their medical school campuses. A huge chunk of it belongs to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. There is not much spread at all between the two main campus endowments, and the same group manages them.
The chick is right. There really is little separation now between the two schools. I would say that the greatest gap is that UT is the better graduate school/professional school (ie, law, med) destination, ATM is the better undergrad destination for most majors.
And as an Auburn undergrad, I've always thought it was cute that UT and ATM think they really hate each other.

The plural on schools is the point. When comparing endowments, you usually only look at the main campus endowment, because all those other campuses and especially the med schools gotta eat too.
UT makes the comparison very hard because of the complexity of the way they manage things - something they were already legendary for when I stepped on campus 35 years ago.
Point is, what the main campus can draw from is not that much larger than ATM's kitty. The published results are a bit deceptive. At one point, I worked closely with the guy that ran the bulk of it, so I have some limited insight.

If one is talking FOOTBALL, then aggie is not close.
Over the last 75 years (and more so this century) until the last three years, aggie has not been near the top of football for the state of Texas.
For those periods, Texas U is clearly better and second only to OU!
