Brian Kelly buyout -- $54 million
Is being paid out over next 6 years
Will Wade buyout -- $5.3 million (drops to $3 million April 1)
We settled for $4M
Lane Kiffin contract -- $91 million
Is a 7 year deal, not paid all at once
Will Wade contract – Approximate $30 million (details have not been announced)
Will also be a 7-ish year deal probably
This is far from money out of the pocket right now, the majority of it is being paid over a long period of time. Obviously I know people like Thamel have a HUGE thing against LSU, but incredibly weird way to frame it like the school spent $190M the last 6 months when thats not even close to accurate

LSU DID spend over $170 million. $76 million in buyouts. $72 million guaranteed to Kiffin. Likely $25-28 million guaranteed to Wade. So they are on the hook for over $170 million. They have negotiated so they will have the next 6 to 7 years to pay it off.
But that money is spent. LSU simply has a payment plan for their coaches like the average LSU fan does for their Aaron’s TV.

I didn't "forget" anything. Was pointing the huge fallacy LSU "spent" $190M the last 6 months. I was merely pointing out the long term contracts and Kelly/McMahon buyouts are paid out over a long term, not right now, not this year, but over several years.
The Kelly buyout is being handled by 1 big booster mostly who stepped up. This isn't much "LSU" money in that instance, rather large donor support.

Not in the last 6 months as was misrepresented by Thamel, he is intentionally trying to mislead to make it look much worse than cash flow reality. Most of this is money over several years, no the last 6 months, this year alone.
If you buy a house with a 30 year mortgage for $500k, you didn't "spend" $500k just then, you are obligated to pay $500k over the next 30 years (plus interest). There is a huge difference in how you present that kind of information.
On top of all that its a ton of donor money, not "school" money. As I said above 1 donor pretty much stepped up and is taking care of the Kelly buyout on their own. We've got some huge huge donor money these days from some billionaires.
