Bama should get back to playing Notre Dame and Penn State.

Bama-ND may be a good match-up, but not sure I would describe as a "rivalry." They have only played 7 times (5 losses for Bama).
LSU has played ND more often (10 times) and has a better W/L record (5-5).

In their current state, Alabama would be accused of scheduling cupcakes ;p

It was epic in 66 and 73 (primarily in seasons we DIDN'T play them), but also a couple of times where there were epic games played for the National Championship. We lost those, but they were good games decided by a couple of points.

Clemson/Georgia
Florida/Miami
Texas/Texas A&M*

*It's ridiculous that the 2 flagship state schools in a football-crazy place like TX don't annually play each other right now.

That's the downside of expansion. We've lost that game, OU-NU, WVU-VT, Kansas-Mizzou. Along with Memphis-Louisville in basketball.

Auburn pussied out of their yearly FSU game once FSU became a power in the mid 80s

lolwut?
AU-FSU have played 19 times, between 1954 and 2014.
7 of those games took place between 1983 and 1990.
when did 19 games over 36 years (1954-1990) become a "yearly FSU game"
They called off the game in the 90's because of SEC expansion, but were set to renew it in 99 and 2000 (pitting daddy bowden against tater tot terry), but Terry got fired before the games took place. Auburn called off those games so Bobby couldn't take out his wrath over his son getting fired on freshly hired new AU coach Tommy Tubberville

And you can blame texas for that. Mark my words, the game will only return when they feel that they can benefit from it. That's just the way they've always done business with us.

Look up how they refused to play us back in the day until we fired Coach Charlie Moran (the first AM coach who was kicking their arse on a regular basis).

The A&M v Texas game will return one day but not before a) we establish ourselves as a wholly independent program and b) all the anger and hurt feelings go away (which imo will take longer than a).

We tried, Slive tried, they thumbed their noses and "upgraded" (tee hee).

Let 'em wallow for a year or 50.

I don't get this mindset.

Instead of running away, y'all should adopt the "anywhere, anytime" mantra start kicking their asses on a regular basis.

Seriously, I don't get it. Y'all are far and away a better program at the moment and it would definitely show on the scoreboard. Play them in Austin ten times in a row and win 8/10 and you'll on top.

which is what both we and the SEC did when we moved. They said they were good without playing us. That's fine with me. They made their choice, let them rot in it

We offered to leave a space open on the schedule for our game with them. Slive was willing to bend over backwards to make it work for us. Texas wanted to see TAMU suffer for leaving the conference and refused to play us and black balled the rest of the conference into shunning us as well.

If anyone "ran away," it was them. Go back and see for yourself.

Y'all don't get it. They won't play us, and as much as I can't stand Tech, I do have some respect for them because they told Texas to frick off when Texas told them not to play us. We will play our old traditional (now ooc) rivals when they quit being Texas' bitches and schedule us.

Is that the article from earlier this year when someone not related to either university's AD said they wanted to play us. Really!
