Why would I laugh at that? Those are normal people. I laugh at the thousands of SEC fans who watch the complete shite product that is college baseball

That suggests priority.

Women's basketball averages maybe 3k in attendance while baseball averages 10k.

It depends on the school. In the SEC, baseball is a revenue sport at a handful of schools.

at SC we probably double attendance for WBB than we do for baseball. more seats at the CLA, more wins, higher % of ranked matchups, less games. all those things probably help.

the baseball team needs to improve but even still Dawn fills up the building

I don't have to count every head in the ballpark. I just have to look at that aerial and count a few rows.

Honestly, it's so obvious to anyone who has seen actual large crowds at other venues, it doesn't require even that much effort.

But for you, and for the SEC Rant, I'll do it.

ipse dixit

If it’s so noticeable, where are the others calling our attendance and capacity numbers into question? Or are you the lone genius crying out in the darkness who figured it out?

Can you show me anyone else (not on this message board) saying we inflate our capacity and attendance numbers? Anyone?

Business Insider, sir. I don’t make the rules or generate revenue numbers.

Looks like the numbers came from the DOE and I have no idea where they got these numbers. Some are clearly pulled out of thin air.

That's honestly just sad to see, because some of these schools are still pretty good programs.

I remember when Sunken Diamond used to be one of the premier spots to see a college game.

And I can't ever remember any sport where a team that thoroughly dominated the rest of the country like USC just vanished for what seems like forever. They haven't hosted a regional since 2001 and have only qualified for the postseason twice in the last 18 full seasons. I'd imagine that the athletic department has just haulted on taking the program seriously anymore

Correct. Clearly am correct about Hockey bringing in more revenue than baseball. I can go back and add “on average” if you’d like, you argumentative frick. You're the same dude that wanted to argue with me while I was telling the board that this past season was UGA’s year. You just need to argue about something for no reason. This topic isn’t relevant to you or your school.

Yeah, I’m sure they just made a number up.

LMAO!

Do the freakin math. There are 299 teams playing D1 Baseball vs 60 playing hockey.Multiply each number by the "average revenue" for each sport.Even with that screwy graph. CBB comes out ahead. You clearly stated college hockey brings in more revenue without any qualifiers and it clearly does not.

I don't GAS what you were telling the board but I'll call people out for bullshite statements and that revenue "graphic" that was shown.

Please explain to me how the "average revenue" for rowing was close to a million per year per team or equestrian? There is no possible way this is close to being true.

And please give a answer other than "take it up with business insider" or the DOE.

You’re just here to argue. That’s what you do. It’s your schtick. I appreciate the consistency.

I didn’t create the numbers and have no reason to believe they were fabricated. If you choose to believe Business Insider (or DOE) fabricated numbers for fun, that’s on you - not me.

It is true

Wisconsin can bring in 18k each hockey game, along with other top tier hockey programs.

THAT would be pretty freakin amazing considering their capacity is 15,200+ and exactly ZERO teams play in a arena with 18K capacity.

Hockey is played during the winter when there isn’t shite to do up north because it’s cold and snowy. Baseball is played in the spring when people are excited to get outside and do things. I don’t know but it wouldn’t surprise me Hockey has better numbers.

I think college baseball is a great product but baseball in general is boring. Kids aren’t entertained since it’s slow.

You can argue the shite weather would keep people at home and nice weather promotes people getting out of the house to go see a game. All depends on how you want to frame it and what you want to argue.

I enjoy the heck out of college baseball. I love going to Alex Box stadium. MSU and Southern Miss are also a lot of fun to attend

The SEC tourney is a lot of fun

And you still can't explain how where the "average" revenue figure for rowing and equestrian came from.

Nice deflection.

california just isn't a sports place. It's an entertainment hub. The NBA does well with its celebrity themed events.
Even in USC's decades of dominance they didn't fill the coliseum.
Hell, the NFL has left a couple of times.

Those are averages. Only places with popular hockey teams still have a team. Most schools have a baseball team, so having hundreds of schools that don't make money is going to nosedive the average. Assuming government didn't play with the numbers for agenda purposes.
