Oklahoma was complicit in destroying the XII. You sold out your Big 8 brothers (including Nebraska) to grab the skirt of Texas. Now you get to live with the on-going repercussions
Preach it brother.

T Boone is not immortal
If the B12 dies, better 1 state school lands in the P4 than none. PAC has the room for both but already turned down OU with OU asking for the little brother to tag along.

big 10 along with ku.
Safely the biggest "never" in a thread full of them. Iowa will never let ISU in the B1G. But more than that, the academic powerhouses of the B1G would sooner shut the whole thing down than let K-State - which at least until recently had the same admission standards as the KS junior college system - join their AAU club and share in CIC money.

5) Academics are fine. If we are looking at an entire university system(which would include law and medical schools in my opinion,) TAMU doesn't come close to measuring up to Texas, Florida, Bama,or Vandy. NO WHERE CLOSE. I'm tired of the constant academic smack talk from the Ags.
You're a fricking moron. Do you not even begin to realize what we spend on research system wide? Are you too stupid to not know that we have one of the largest genetic libraries in the world? Are you too retarded to know that we will be the one that produce pandemic vaccines if the need arises?
Texas, Florida, and Vanderbilt are all excellent schools. But to say TAMU isn't in the same league is just stupid and something you shouldn't say in public, unless you want to be laughed at.
Putting Alabama in this sentence tells me that you really just don't know shite.

Could be a moot point soon.
Most academic schools run on a school year cycle instead of a calendar year one.
Tomorrow is the last day of June which means at least 1 year added to any moves as the cycle will be over.
Before July 1 and could change for fall football
After June 30 and would have to wait till at least fall football the following year

I think a lot of people underestimate the research/educational portion of the entire college system when involving expansion talk. Athletics brings in millions of dollars to a university, while also spending millions. Research partnerships bring in billions.
B1G isn't touching Okie state, KSU, or any "baggage" school with a 10 foot pole. ISU would be a last resort, only because they are AAU.
I hate to admit it, but kU is in a pretty good spot. National basketball brand, AAU, potential for football when Snyder finally calls it quits.
I don't remember who said it (someone in the B1G)...but they said "this expansion is about money, the next round will be about quality."
Also, just to respond to some people...there certainly plenty in the B1G who have said publicly that not getting Missouri was a mistake. Gee at Ohio State has said it multiple times.
Either the playoffs expand in 10 years, or the ACC/Big 12 get raided.

He said he wanted MU and KU as a pair, and it was the smart move. I still think the B1G was waiting on a pair for Notre Dame to get to 13 and 14. Maryland makes the most sense in this power play.
Nebraska gets you to 12
MU and KU get you to 14
MD and ND get you to 16
Waited on MU and lost them and the Irish went ACC so Rutgers was there and KU got shut out.

Texas isn't going to allow Houston to become a Big 12 member.
Oklahoma will be headed to the B1G.

Has attendance gone down for Texas? I can't imagine their t shirt fans suddenly coming back for the "big" games against Houston and Cincy. What lackluster games that conference has.

I hope so. The B1G would be a nice place for the arrogant F's to rot and wither.

The SEC is too large already. If the SEC goes to 16 teams it becomes so large that even if we go to 9 conference games there would be 6 conference teams which you wouldn't be able to play on any given year. That is simply ridiculous. At some point reality and practicality must come into the equation.
What I would be in favor of is an Alliance between the Big 12 & the SEC which would schedule at least 1 game per season between each SEC/Big12 team. That way we would get to see an LSU/OU or LSU/Texas or Bama/Texas or Auburn/OU or UF/OU or UGA/OSU or Tenn/Baylor or USC/TCU or Ole Miss/KSU or maybe even A&M/Texas. In light of the new schduling requirements it makes sense to make some commitments with oher Power 5 schools and conferences. In addition, if we continue to have cconferences lose their top schools two things happen. The SEC gets tougher and tougher and the other conferences get easier and easier. With the new playoff format you can end up with an Iowa State winning their conference and getting a shot just because of their weak schedule.

Tinfoil hat time.
OU's Boren's comments about realignment are an attempt to pressure Texas to abandon the LHN.The timing is perfect with a new Texas president and an embattled new AD. OU and OSU are tied at the hip and thus are a package deal. I don't see taking both to SEC. Getting into NC and VA remains the plan of expansion IMO. Likely when TV contracts expire, which is 2020s I believe. Big 12 will add Houston and Cincinnati to get 12 teams.

Give me Clepsun, NCSt, etc. aTm is as far west as we need to go. UT, Ok are not good cultural fits for the SEC.

Lets say you really are a Nebraska fan and not just an alter to troll with

If Utx is worried about TAMU in the SEC taking over the Houston MSA then UH is probably already on the "good to go" list. If you really are a Nebraska fan and have been one since the B12 formation you should already know this.

Oklahoma will be headed to the B1G.
This may be the wet dream of B1G bloggers but as a Nebraska fan can you really tell me Nebraska sports are better off on the B1G than they might have been in the PAC?
Imagine if Nebraska had gone to the PAC and Larry Scott got these teams to form the PAC 16
Nebraska
Colorado
Texas
Oklahoma
Kansas
Missouri
Move the AZ schools to this division and you have a nucleus that would have been impossible to break and would have put the Big Red Thrashing Machine in sunny cities instead of the cold tundra that is the B1G.

A&M is more valuable to the SEC's bottom line than Tennessee is. Sorry.

Supposedly, folks in the know are saying that FOX wants UCF as team 11 while ESPN wants Cincinnati. (FOX is already in the Ohio market through the Big Ten)
Team 12, by this same source, is the compromise that they are willing to let Texas pick, which in this case is Houston because of how much ground A&M and LSU took away when A&M joined the SEC.
