Does OU or Texas win a conference title in first five years? National title in first ten?

Sure.

Conference title, OU possibly, depending on how the schedule is setup.

If they win a conference title, very likely they win a national title given recent history.

If OU learns how to play defense they could easily win both.

Right now, I'd have to say no. But isn't the first season they'll play in the league like 2025? A lot can happen in 4 years if that's the case, so who knows.

An infallible measure of defensive dominance

Not infallible, but recognition. But then again you know that.

Their defense was pretty solid the past 2 seasons. They've made some big improvements on that side of the ball.

OU is in the mix day one.

Texas with it's resources is always one right hire away from being firmly planted with the elite, we'll see if Sark is that guy soon enough.

Anyone looking at the recent Texas is short sighted, but the landscape of the future with the NIL in play can't be ignored. With all of the inherant resources Texas possesses, the ability to capitalize on the NIL opportunities may be their greatest strength.

TBD.

Maybe for a league title once a decade or so, but why would you think they have a better shot at winning a national title in the SEC when they get skull-drug in the playoffs. Makes no sense. If anything, Oklahoma regresses. A 9-3 record is about the best they can expect.

Oklahoma-Maybe, if they can get a defense to help the offense. It has been improving under grinch. Well see how it does against SEC offenses.
Texas-No. They have a lot more problems than just “hiring the right coach” it’s toxic there. To many chiefs and to much politics behind the scene. I think they’re staring down the barrel of getting dominated by Aggie when they first join.

OU 50-50 on the conference title. And if so, then they should be in the driver's seat to win it all.

Texas - No.

I'm sure this won't be your favorite comparison, but that's up for testing right now with A&M. We'll see what they can make of a good bit of momentum and huge investment in the program.

You’re 5-4 versus ksu since 2012 and have lost two in a row. Good luck with that.

You’re 2-7 against TCU since 2012.
