You are surprised that people are talking about football on a football message board?

The Oklahoma offense has really gone off a cliff. OU has lost 3 of 4 to Texas. In those 3 losses, OU hasn't scored a touchdown. The combined 2nd half score in those 3 losses is Texas 54 - OU

Yep, it’s one thing to lose to Texas in a close game but to not score a single touchdown in 3 of 4 games is straight up malpractice on Venables’s offensive staff.

Dude, OU deserves every jaw-jacking from the public and medias. We used to be an offensive powerhouse. To not score a single touchdown against Texas in the last 3 games out of 4 is straight up unacceptable. As pathetic it might sound, we probably would’ve have a better chance of winning in a shootout with Riley’s team despite having no defense versus no offense and good defense. For OU to retain Murray, Jon Jones Finley, and Bedenbaugh after last year blew my mind. It was a red flag that Arbuckle wasn’t allowed to bring his own staff. OU admin and BV fricked this up.

If Florida had left a conference they were dominating and in a 12 team playoff would be getting in most years, you might have a point.

But we did not do that one. OU did and in their first two years look very similar to Nebraska jumping to the Big 10. And everyone knows they have been an abyss since their move even with solid coaching hires.

We have a failed offensive staff that was left largely intact after last year's abysmal results, and a HC trying to tell us that it's the defense, who are already performing at nation's best levels, "have to do more" as his formal response to any inquiry.

Delusion is a poor ally, and leaves little room for real solutions.

Confrontation is imminent.

We are not Nebraska, and never will be Nebraska, no matter how much you want to believe that is happening. We are not isolated from any major recruiting areas like Nebraska, nor will we ever be.

We have some key staff who aren't performing, it's not being addressed, and that's all it is.

Maybe
Maybe Not
But it’s looking like maybe not at this present time.

The SEC is nothing like the Big 10 so OU will have even a harder challenge. In the end both are missing the Big 8 and as I pointed out in my OP, leaving the Big 12 looks like a mistake. Tech will be smiling during the playoffs this year while OU might make a bowl game.

Nobody cares about your conference chest-beating and "muh SEC" isn't going to turn Oklahoma into Nebraska.

Florida is closer to being Nebraska than Oklahoma, as ironic as that is.

But you keep talking tho.....

The real question is, how long will Texas and OU remain in the SEC?

I'm guessing they skeedaddle the first chance they get.

I'm guessing Florida eventually accepts a bid to join their sister schools in the ACC.

Florida hasn't been relevant since Tebow left, which is tracking exactly like Nebraska after Crouch left, and multiple HCs later for both.

Let's look at that a minute. The 1st game BVs first year after Riley gutted the team OU had WRs and RBs playing QB the whole game. The 2nd game OU had a backup true freshman QB never played in the environment before. And this year Texas gets a QB coming off surgury for a broken bone in his throwing hand just days ago. Not that surprising really. Texas has been very fortunate with these breaks.

Cocky now that you’ve won at least one legitimate game this year, hm?

That is a little overboard just based off of one game...but, they have some issues for sure.

They sit at 1-1 in league play now. We can argue about how they got that one win back in September all we want, but it is in the W column.

They have @South Carolina, #5 Ole Miss, @ #11 Tennessee, @ #6 Alabama, #16 Missouri, and #10 LSU remaining.

I can see them beating South Carolina and maybe one of the other teams to end up 3-5. The issue is really going to be if Venables continues to rush Mateer back and he ends up being out for the year. If that were to happen then all bets are off on reaching 3 league wins. The OL looks pretty rough as well. They've given up 11 sacks in the last four games, which includes games against Temple and Kent State.

Seems like a gator fan would be more worried about their own and possibly finishing 3-5....... then that dagger to end the season 4-8 overall.

While this may be true… this is Oklahoma and it is perfectly valid to think not scoring a touchdown 3/4 matchups is unacceptable. It’s really time to stop with the excuses but it hasn’t done us any good but prolong this dumpster fire of an era.

It could be worse.

We could fall as far as . . . Auburn.

This is the most knee-jerk place I've ever seen in my life.

Texas would smash Florida if we played again. Just take your pitiful win and go sit down.

Texas beating OU means nothing in your little world.

I'm glad you guys are here NOW, when we left the Big XII, we were thrilled to be invited to a major upgrade. I still loathe Texas for their bs, & seethed at OU for enabling it..but water under the bridge..I've told everyone who will listen..that Ou ran that conference on the field..not Texas, & also.. that Ou BBall has quite a tradition as well. I stated, that Ou football will adjust and get it right..the powers that be, won't accept less. I like BV, and hope he gets some more wins, but I've watched Ou begrudgingly from afar to know, the Venables can still get fired this year if the rest of the season tanks...true story.. good luck..and I have to say about your road travel comments.. some one in Utah..Podcaster I think...called the current Big XII.. the Truck Stop 12, and I can't stop thinking about it !
