Auburn

Probably used to be Tennessee and I don't doubt some Bama fans that say it still is for them. But for the majority it is easily Auburn.

This sums it up perfectly. You could put that on a button.

I have a bottle opener that says that.

Bama fans hate UT becuase Fulmer was the only coach with the balls to call the REC cheating machine to the carpet and before they had a chance to really blow the lid off with connections to Paul Bryant, Jr., insurance fraud, laundering money, paying players' families, High school coaches, they rubbed out the Logan Young before he could dime on them.

Dude there were brawls and glass bottles flung between Alabama and Tennessee fans before fulmer even became coach.

I can guarantee you that most fans who have ever been to Knoxville for the game hate Tennessee.

there was a long time in the history of the SEC that the BAma AU game was not played. Maybe half a century. That is not the case with the BAma UT game. So the old timers look to UT as a bigger deal. I know the Bear did. But the younger generation look at AU as the bigger deal. I am 55 so the AU is the bigger deal as I live among more AU fans but just a handful of UT fans.

We go through this same shite every year. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Yes, there are bama fans who consider one or the other a bigger rival depending on their age or location. Yes, there are AU fans who consider UGA a bigger rival based on their location.

What the frick does it really matter who is 1a and 1b at the end of the day? Bama wants both to lose to the Taliban, and Auburn wants both to lose to ISIS. This isn't the fricking offseason.

I know that's the prevailing myth but it was actually Spurrier who turned them in for cheating. Not that we didn't contribute but Spurrier got the ball rolling. Even Paul Finebaum has finally admitted this and he used to torch Fulmer over the whole thing when his show was still mainly an Alabama show (truth be told I think he was a Johnny Majors guy).

There was universal agreement among most SEC coaches that things had gotten out of hand at Bama - there's cheating and then there's cheating and at that time BAMA was going too far. Spurrier blew the whistle and once that happened Fulmer was more than happy to drive the nail in BAMA's coffin and probably did it with a smile.

Sounds like you got rustled when an Auburn fan said he hated another team. For many of the Georgia Auburn fans, they hate UGA more. We have always had a significant georgia part of our base from the get go, so there are a lot of them.

this ... both bama and auburn fan bases might claim ut/ug as their main rival, but they are not, tho the tsio is probably underrated by a lot of younger bama fans ... growing up, the ut game wasn't anywhere as big a deal as the auburn game ... we all have friends/family that are divided between bama and auburn ... think i have 1 ut friend ... and bear himself said the following:
Sure I'd like to beat Notre Dame, don't get me wrong. But nothing matters more than beating that cow college on the other side of the state."
