They would get more than normal but they wouldn't get twice as much from the BCS because the SEC would lose out on the Sugar.

Good point....I wonder if Arky were to play LSU close- would there be a chance they'd still get a Sugar Bowl invite if LSU/Bama are in the title game?

I guess that would cause a riot with some other schools, though....

Well, we did leave points on the field....

Time will tell. But you said if we think voters care about what's fair then we were naive, and I proved that they do.

Without a rematch, Bama can claim a "people's championship" like USC in 03. With a rematch they just get handled again.

Not just no, but HELL no. There is only one crystal ball. Trust me, we want a freakin rematch.

Alabama did not leave any points on the field. What they left "on the field" were failures to execute which LSU capitalized on and prevented us from ever getting those points into play.

LSU won, we had our chance and failed. We do not deserve a re-match but I do hope we get one.

One thing's certain, Maze, Hanks, etc. have provided plenty of bulletin board material for a possible rematch.

Don't know about "deserve" a rematch. But if Stanford and Okie State both lose, I'm not sure anyone has a better resume than Bama.

LSU dropped a TD pass and had a RB step out of bounds on an easy TD too. One redzone attempt in the entire game doesn't cut it.

Of course you do. But you're the only fan base in the country that wants that -- the rest of the country has moved on. They know LSU went into Tuscaloosa and came away with a win, even while making a ton of mistakes.

Lots of false bravado from the Tide fans. Whistling past the graveyard. They want no part of LSU in the Superdome. None.

Yes, we want no chance at winning a title. GTFO.

If we're the only fan base who wants that, why was 60% of Sports Nation in favor of a rematch?

I just dislike the double-standard at play here. I have no doubts in my mind that if LSU had lost by 3 on Saturday night, they'd be firmly implanted behind behind Stanford and possibly even Boise St. I just don't understand why Bama would get the free pass to the BCSNC game without winning the SECCG. Basically they failed their one really big test of the season, why is there no penalty to that for Bama, whereas everyone else must pay for their losses?

As a Tiger fan, I'd LOVE to play Bama again. A) Because the Tigers would whoop that arse in the Dome. And B) Because that would cause a spike in the suicide rate for the state of Alabama. Which is always a good thing.

We want Bama! We want Bama! We want Bama!

If the BCS feels we have to beat Bama twice to prove we're the better team, fine. Whatever it takes to win that crystal trophy, err....I mean BCS Championship.

I really doubt their will be a rematch. Id love it, i know the sec would, but outside the sec the college football nation would be pissed.

exactly what I thought - don't want no more part of Bama...

Don't need any more. Already got 'em.

why would you want to? Oh, maybe to prove you are the better team?

We already did that. We went into their house and beat them.

The game the other night didn't prove one way or another who the 'better' team was.

Then what would another one just like it in New Orleans prove?

I think it's funny that the butthurt Arkies, who so badly wanted the vicarious validation of having Bama beat us like they beat the piggies, are pounding their chests more than the Bama fans are about Bama's still somehow being a better team than LSU.

So, results on the field don't matter? Does Arkie have to beat Auburn again to prove they're a better team? Sure, they won by a big margin, but at home. Shouldn't they have to beat them again at Auburn, and again in New Orleans, and just for good measure, best of seven in whatever fantasy world Arkansas was teleported here from?

If you don't win your division, much less your conference, you have no right to a rematch. Sorry, your team had a chance and lost at home.

As I recall, there was the same sentiment for an #1 Ohio State v. #2 Michigan game in 2006 whish OSU won 42-39. OSU got thumped in the national championship to Flordia 41-14.
