Fournette is a helluva back. There's no denying that. But the reality is that your OL last year, relative to Alabama's defense, wasn't anywhere nearly as good as LSU fans claimed they were. Not even close. Our skepticism about how Fournette might do next week shouldn't be interpreted as a slap against him. Until we see otherwise on the field, we aren't buying into your OL. If your OL doesn't do a better job this year, expect the same results.

I agree with this completely. Fournette can still be great and the LSU OL fail against the Alabama Defense. Or, the Alabama Defense can be so great as to shut down even a great RB.

I have no idea why some Alabama fans feel the need to denigrate their opponents. It doesn't even make Bama look better. It is ignorant.

I'm glad to see (and not at all surprised), that knowledgable Alabama fans can see the this differently.

If LF didn't play for LSU would you all still live vicariously through him?

Questions for the ages

Another stupid comment.

I think I'd be able to say that he is a great running back. I say that about a lot of SEC players that don't play for LSU. You're comment makes zero sense. We can only appreciate the players on our team? What?

Derrick Henry was amazing last year. Just an incredible running back. Truly great. There. Do you feel affirmed now? Better? More complete as a human being because I praised someone you don't know who wore the jersey of the team you pull for for a couple of years?

This right here is why I give them shite about his performance vs Bama. The whole generational talent, best ever , he's gonna crush Bama and etc.

The whole generational talent tag wasn't started by LSU fans. That was said before he even committed to LSU.

That comment would not really qualify as sarcasm under any actual definition of the word. But, go ahead.

While I admit LF has the strength to run through some tackles, he has made his yards by bursting through holes a drunk man could drive a garbage truck through.

Bama's D-line won't allow those holes to stay open long.

This game is gonna be awesome

Y'all were saying the same thing this time last year.

To answer the OP's question, nobody thinks he sucks. We all realize he's a great talent. The heisman trophy ceremony and NC crowning that LSU fans had in late October of 2015 just caused every poster to troll a little more after the dynamic performance against Alabama in the First Saturday in November game of 2015

But, do you actually think that Alabama held Fournette to 30 something yards because Fournette sucks?
no. They did that because Alabama is great and LSU sucks. I'll just place this mic on the floor.

The game plan last year was terrible. Along with the fact that LES ran him into the ground early in the season trying to win the heisman in september and october. Add that to the fact that bama has a great Dline and it was a disaster. This year although injured early he should be very fresh. LSU's gameplan will leave more to prepare for and the willingness to run something different should provide a challenge. The game is in tiger stadium. Should be a good game but no one with any football sense thinks LF7 is going to run wild on BAMA. Smack talk is fun though!!

He's really good, he is arguably the best RB in college football - the problem is that basically only one RB in my lifetime could look like a bad arse even if his line was being dominanted and Buga's no Barry Sanders (no shame in that Adrian Peterson isn't either).

we recognize hes a once in a generation kind of player

I don't believe this. He's an elite talent, but this once in a generation stuff is too much hype. He's shown bursts of brilliance but his career on the whole has not been what many expected or hoped.

This.

He's awesome no doubt but I think this sells other bad arse SEC (and OOC) backs short- McFadden, Henry (all time HS rushing leader plus Heisman), Dalvin Cook (massive douche but absurdly talented- seems to break as many tackles as LF or Henry despite being Saban sized) ; etc

The only players I've seen who I'd say were generational talents-- like they looked in college like 5 stars do at 500 person High Schools- were Suh (last year was just stupid), RS Frosh Vick (Sugar Bowl tape is hilarious to watch- all 4 FSU DL starters ended up top 20 picks and he toyed with them), and above all else College Moss- Randy Moss in college was like when you came home from school for Thanksgiving and played football with your Grade school cousins.

You got some good responses, but I'm not sure why you had to ask. Fans are fans, and will say whatever to get you riled up. Leonard was stopped cold last season. He remembers, they remember. Next week is the last time he'll face Alabama. If he wants to go out on a better note, ball the frick out.

The end!
