This is why his behavior is a problem. It’s not about jealousy or modern style aggressiveness, it’s because at this level you will have to fight through adversity at some point and if you have his attitude you’re more inclined to throw a fit and lose your mind instead. And we just saw it play out, when they reacted like they did after the first loss you knew the collapse was coming.

Some people just don't know how to win. I think LSU showed they knew how to win this year, Johnson knows how to win. Didn't have the horses though. Tennessee will be a memory in everyone's mind here in about 3 years once UF and Vandy come back to playing winning ball.

My man, it ain't just this board. Vitello and his team made people hate them. Who knows, maybe it was intentional and they like being the villains, but it shouldn't be shocking they're not a likeable baseball team. But to say people hate them "for no good effin reason" is intellectually dishonest.

Let that dickweed flip off an outfielder at Moo State, Hawgsville, The Box, in a 3 game series it'll seem like playing while sitting on powder keg. Next season any road series will be ugly with the Vols
reputation already established, fans will be chomping at the bits.

I don't hate Vitello. I still, even after all this bullshite, at some level wish LSU would have hired him (although I have a lot more confidence in Johnson today than I did 3 months ago). However, I do hope he learns from this that there are times when you need to temper that aggressiveness and attitude as well as times when you need to harness it.

There was little reason for him or his assistant coach to leave the dugout when the guy got tossed on Friday. You cuss out the ump when arguing balls and strikes you are getting tossed as a player in college and there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I think Vitello will probably learn from this and do exactly what I said above at least I hope he does. The SEC and NCAA as a whole benefits from having an injection of attitude that a guy like Vitello brings to the field.

I'm hoping that LSU and Tennessee can have a big baseball rivalry going into the future. I just hope LSU comes out on top more than UT does.

Vitello's a dick. Dicks seldom win and, when they do, they're still dicks. Compare Vitello in this interview an interview Brian Snitker would have done. Snit's a gentleman and a winner, Vitello's a dick and a loser, and a poor one at that. He won't win a NC at UT because everyone will be gunning for the team because the coach is a dick and instills that attitude in his players.

You are absolutely right here....this is something that a coach like Vitello has to understand and deal with effectively.

It remains to be seen if Vitello can do it.

when a team/coach has that many and much of emotion constantly... The little things go unnoticed and the emotion becomes the most constant thing.

Until it is an emotional wreck!

Apparently you never heard of Nick Saban, Urban Meyer or Steve Spurrier..ffs. Are all you UGA posters recent sidewalk fans or something?

I don't even think Vitello is nearly as big of a prick as those guys. He is more like college baseball's version of Lane Kiffin as far as I'm concerned only more successful.

Which is fine if you

1) just admit it (and stop trying to make excuses and pretend your players aren’t actually taunting/swagging out)

2) don’t get butthurt when other players do it back, which is what Tennessee and their fans did all season

Other than the dude who showed up a few months ago and keeps shitposting, most of the poor behavior has come from rant standard run of the mill folk. I don’t think Vitello bumping into an ump is causing their behavior. Hell even the shitposter has frick all to do with TV. The hypocrisy over how everyone thinks other people should behave has been mind blowing.

tRant posters acting like they’re better than anyone else is hilarious. I don’t see how you do it with a straight face. It’s like the preacher fricking his secretary in the back room giving a sermon on lust and adultery.

You cannot truly believe what you wrote. Thats its the run of the mill Rant folks that started this...

nah it was UT fans, players, coaches who started this with their stupid cocky attitude paired with their inability to tip their cap after a loss. Yall all did this to yourself. Reap what you sow

I don’t know where you got the “only more successful” from. He has the same number of Omaha wins as the HC of the Maine Bears.
