I guess for your narrative, 2011 is irrelevant, but 2012 is like it happened yesterday

I hope so. Any larger and it won't be a true conference.
Second this motion. At some point, this ceases to be a conference and becomes a mob.
If we've got a gun to our head and we have to do this again, I'd rather expand east, ideally with North Carolina and Virginia.
But I doubt that we'll expand again, and if we do, I doubt seriously UVA would consider joining the SEC and UNC won't leave the ACC unless that conference is completely untenable.

If they chose to join, would y'all welcome Notre Dame?
I would simply because they'd lose a minimum of 4-5 games automatically every year.
No. This is crazy talk. If this happens, why even call it the SEC anymore?

TAMU brought fans and TV sets, the rest? SC, Mizzou, Arky? They added nothing special. NCST instead of Mizzou, West Va instead of Arky, and Eastern Carolina instead of Uof SC and the SEC is better off.
South Carolina and Arkansas added the SEC Championship Game, plus two stable problems that nicely fit the profile.
They were solid additions. Either Arkansas or South Carolina have bigger fanbases than West Virginia or Directional Carolina.

West Virginia is the most likely next non big 12 team to get an invite,
To OP's question I've created a few scenarios
Link to website I used if anyone wants to create their own
I'd also expand regular season to 16 games with a bye after every 4 games and start it in early-mid August with a 16 or 24 team playoff with a 1st ( and 2nd rd in 24 team playoff) quarterfinals and semi finals then a 2 week bye before the Natty so bowl season starts mid January and ends early or mid February. The 16 game schedule consists of 12 conference and 4 non conference

And the year before that A&M beat teasip. What's your point? Chokelahoma thrashing of A&M was in 2003 you dumbazz.
You are all over the place xwing. I think you are starting to lose it. Can't keep track of two songs. Somehow try to insinuate that A&M and the SEC are afraid of blowU. Apparently 'sip is the only afraid of chokelahoma, which does not make sense. Most little sisters (teasip) are not afraid of their big brothers(blowU), especially since they needed them to get an invite into the SEC. I guess when you have been dominated by the same team for the last 20 years, you get a little scared of them.
Now why don't you run along back to a Big 12 board and discuss dildos with your Big 12 brothers. The members of the SEC have a lot of smack talking to do and you are just making yourself look even more stupid than normal.

THIS IS TEXAS A&M:

be playing more of them per season if not for you big 12 expats running to the sec

I don't think there is anything wrong in that statement, that's what almost 100 years of playing certain opponents does to a fanbase.
Hindsight the Big 8 screwed up. SWC and Texas politics sucked and the Big 8 shouldn't have been more assertive in establishing the culture at the time. It allowed Texas to do whatever it wanted, but it didn't need to. In a perfect world, it would have been something like this:
North:
Colorado
Iowa St
kansas
kansas St
Missouri
Nebraska
South:
Arkansas
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St
After that, it could have added more teams from Texas (Baylor, TCU, Houston) or Utah or BYU to keep Colorado from leaving.
Then get to the point where it was just scrapping divisions and playing pods, or whatever scheduling scenario for a 16 team conference.

Since we apparently cannot go back to the original 12
You mean the original 10.

I'd like to think so, but thought we were done before. Wouldn't mind picking off a few ACC teams and killing another conference.
Posted on 5/18/22 at 7:28 pm to 3rddownonthe8
Either get rid of Texas, Oklahoma, and Aggie or change the name because there's absolutely nothing East about any of them
Posted on 5/18/22 at 7:34 pm to LouisvilleKat
The conference should be renamed “we sold our values for money”. No other outcome with both A&M and Texas

No, I think eventually the SEC will be one of 2 or 3 major conferences of 20-24 teams
