The fact that it is liberal or conservative doesn't matter. If I think it wrong I won't support it. If there were a conservative cause that the coach and team supported and sat out for the national anthem I would do the same. It is poor sportsmanship.

I don't really root for people to fail, I just would not be a fan and not follow the team any longer.

Edit, the reason that I would hope they lose is so we could replace the leadership and I could start following the team again.

You people are such little bitches...

If everyone started to think on the notion of 'What does that have to do with me?' anytime some shite happens we would be much better off.

I don't care what any of y'all do so feel free to continue to bitch at will.... Because it doesn't affect me. SWIDT?

As covered not an intentional slight, the team was out there on Sunday

Dawn was an Olympic flag bearer for crying out loud. Has coached team USA.

I wonder if all these people who think that kneeling, or protesting against the flag national/anthem and believe it is disrespectful to the troops/country... Realize that a lot service members intentionally stay indoors to avoid Reveille & Retreat...

So to those people who are accusing USC of hiding in the locker room to avoid the national anthem...so does 75% of the military guess we are just as unpatriotic

Hope you didn’t pull a muscle reaching like that. Imagine trying to use a war in ukraine as your argument for forcing ppl to stand during a song.

I do not give a damn for this yankee nation and expect it to collapse from blight and not learning lessons as old as time. But I respect those that fought and died for it. At sporting events on a team playing you are present and stand for the flag and national anthem be it yours or the host country or the team you are playing against.

Does anyone else see the irony? For a country that has such "deep rooted racism", a gay* black woman can make 3 million dollars per year coaching a women's sport that is nationally televised, then protest the country that has made possible the freedoms and opportunities such as hers?

I think they get a pass. This isn’t the first time South Carolina kept their distance from the Union

This doesn’t make sense when the US spends 9 times more on its military than the next closest nation, yet refuses to provide vets a functional VA, address vet homelessness, or provide social services for vets suffering mental illness. If your end goal is supporting the troops your time would be better spent addressing real issues that vets face.

Why is honoring all those who died to create and protect a country so free that we can make a big deal out of childrens game, can cuss the best and last hope for a non monarch or dictator rule, why is it so tough to understand?

Yet, some can turn quickly to violence over a joke in front of a bunch of jokers who play other people for money....

You're the one reaching bud. Nobody has said anything about forcing someone to stand and you're free to do what you want without legal repercussions but you certainly are not free from criticism. The anthem is a powerful unifying symbol and not standing for it seen as a form of disrespect for an easy majority of Americans.

So you think the girls sitting in that locker room love their country? Or were they trying to show everyone the opposite? Which is closer to the truth for these gals in your opinion?

OK It appears that South Carolina didn't do it on purpose, so it seems as if it were just an oversight. But a mistake you should do your best not to make in these times we are living.

Also back when the players knelt, Staley and the coaches did not.

Baw, congrats on the win. Well deserved.

But that is a bad look.

Especially for an SEC team.
