Have you guys ever thought about how, on the day after your first birthday, you're actually celebrating the second occurrence of that day in your lifetime?

This makes absolutely no sense but it at least has no logic behind it.

We're all less intelligent after reading that post.

Edit: Now I understand what you're saying.

I absolutley love that this is now on the 2nd page and its like a philosophical debate about zero being the absence of a number or if it has a value.

The very first recorded year:
Start//End year 1: 1/1/00…..12/31/00

Year 2 Start//End: 1/1/01…..12/31/01
Year 3 Start//End: 1/1/02 …..2/31/02
Yada, yada, yada
Year 10 Start/End: 1/1/09…..12/31/09

00-09 For the win.

Also, no matter how you measure the start of a decade (correct or incorrect), you can 100% say that auburn football has a losing record this decade.

To me logically it makes sense to start on the 0

The first year was year 1. So, the tenth year would be year 10. All decades start with xxx1 and end with xx10.

The fact that no one alive then thought of it as Year 1 does inject some ambiguity. Modern calendars would set that date centuries after they died.

Freeze will be looking for a job unless he starts winning and competing with the best soon.

Of course, so will any of these coaches in SEC.

So you’re saying we celebrate years AFTER they’re completed.

It's a very interesting topic. Chatgpt says

A decade starts with a year ending in 1, not 0, if you're using the calendar-based (ordinal) system.

Two perspectives:
1. Calendar (Historical/Ordinal) Perspective – Starts with 1
Decades are counted starting from year 1 AD, because there was no year 0 in the Gregorian calendar.

So the first decade was from year 1 to 10.

Following that logic:

The 1990s = 1991 to 2000

The 200th decade = 1991 to 2000

The 202nd decade = 2021 to 2030

2. Popular (Informal) Perspective – Starts with 0
People often refer to decades like the "1990s" as 1990 to 1999, just based on the shared digits.

This is common in pop culture, media, and general conversation.

The 2020s = 2020 to 2029

Try beginning at 0 and ending after 9.

Well the 2020* "Football Season" does not count (as is well known) so either way I don't see a winning record this decade.

One of those wins for Auburn in 2020 was a loss. It was admitted by the league, so hope that helps.
