Lesson here? Nobody watches TNT on the regular, and many people don't even have it or know how to get it without buying an expensive cable/live tv streaming package.
Of course they somehow won the bid for playoff games, but seeing these ratings won't exactly spur ABC/ESPN, NBC, CBS or Fox to overpay next time they're up for grabs.
That said I thought TNT did a surprisingly good job with their pre-game and actual game coverage.

Quit blaming TNT. The ABC game only got 6.3.

No idea why you think your opinion matters here, your team got destroyed by Alabama.
LSU beat both Vanderbilt and Oklahoma, both of which whipped Alabama.

There were several blowouts in the seasons top 20 viewers (on major networks). People tend to watch, even blowouts, if it’s two big teams.

I will say this though, contrary to what many believed would happen, they allowed us to do the full home game experience and the atmosphere was great. Bevo Blvd outside the stadium, smokey the cannon and light show/fireworks for Longhorn TD's, and drone show as well...but it wasn't quite dark enough for the full effect. Weather was perfect (only needed a hoody for the second half) and everyone who attended in person had a great time. The city of Austin itself wasn't as busy as usual so even getting out to drive home wasn't too bad.

This just proves the NFL is King. Always has been, Always will be.
Regular season NFL games played head to head with CFP:
Steelers-Ravens on Fox: 7.6
Texans-Chiefs on NBC: 7.4

$19 tickets and ratings lower than what you’d see for an SEC matchup between bottom feeders, what’s not to love?

This has to have them freaking out.
Those are two teams with major national followings and they can’t break a 5? Yikes.

And yet.... 42-13 happened. At home. In scary death valley. At night.

I guess this is what LSU football has become.

Its pretty simple:
Games were on TNT instead of antenna TV.
Games went up against good NFL matchups.
Games were all blowouts.

None of the games were remotely entertaining

It's 100 percent not the committee's fault that Ole Miss and Alabama completely shite the bed 9 days before the selection show and put the committee in a really tight spot. Shouldn't have gone 9-3.

The ratings for the final 4 and title game will need to be record setting to make up for the early rounds.
Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl will both top 20 million is my prediction.

I don’t see it. I think a pretty good percentage of viewers who checked out during the first round checked out for good.
