UCLA's never been a "force" in football.
They had three good seasons in the mid-1950s and weren't consisently good until Terry Donahue became their coach. From 1983-'88, they posted some good seasons, winning at least 10 games three times.
More than anything I remember that the USC-UCLA game was must see TV from about 1965-1969. Those games were always televised in what was usually one of just a couple of weekends where we actually got to see two games on TV. And the Bruins and Trojans delivered.
The Gary Beban-OJ Simpson games were among the best games of that decade.
Also, does anybody remember the "Ugly Californians Leave Athens" game in 1983... made famous by SI?

Wrong. Pimp stick was at Kyle Field when we beat them. but not doubt that's what led to our demise a year later. Thank you, Mr. Sumlin.

The most painful football game I've ever watched.

Was that the time the Kenny whatever guy became a Heisman contender in the first half?
Kenny Trill was 2014, hyped after the opener against South Carolina. He had a decent year and career.
I think Nick Starkel started the game and a young Kellen Mond came in. Both were awful. Mond couldn't complete a pass to save his life.

Texas was ranked in the top 15 every time.

Well, if it wasn't for Tennessee, it wouldn't be that successful.

They used to care about football. Now they act like they can't be bothered. How they got a ticket to the B1G is more about politics than football.

If I remember right that was UGA's first game after Herschel Walker left.

Wrong. Auburn sucks but that doesn’t mean the SEC doesn’t rule CFB.

The first game Peyton Manning ever played in for Tennessee was at UCLA in 1994...that 2 point loss was the opener for that year, when UT's starter went down in the first series on offense...UT went back and forth between 3 QBs...Junior Todd Helton, Freshman Brandon Stewart and Freshman Peyton Manning.

That 2017 comeback vs A&M was one of the most unthinkable occurrences I can remember. Aggie snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
