Did we already talk about Leavitt’s stats against SEC defenses?

44/88 CMP/ATT
373 yards
4.2 YPA
1 TD/3 INT
Avg QBR of 57
153 Rush Yds
2 rush TDs
LSUs defense is the best unit in this game, but I’m really not sure why some LSU fans think a QB that never broke 100 yards passing against the MSU defense is suddenly going to light the world on fire just because Ole Miss doesn’t have a top 50 defense. Tomorrow will almost certainly be an ugly win no matter who comes out on top

What do you think is a realistic expectation for Leavitt?

Well true a stat is a stat. However we have been able to play backups on D who have done a pretty good job. You don’t think his skills are going to get better in practice with our defensive players?

Stats from last year when he was hurt LOLZ

Yes we did. It was talked about quite extensively when LSU signed him from the portal.
Thanks though.

I think it is totally dependent on game flow. Kiffin would prefer to run the ball all night if he can.
LSU’s dream scenario is Leavitt goes 10/15 for 150 yds and 1 TD. Because that means the LSU defense stopped Chambliss and the ground game probably has 200+ yards and 3 TDs.
More likely is something like 14/26 for 200ish yds 2TD and 1 INT (maybe the completion % is a bit higher and the yards are lower if Kiffin sticks to screens)
Worst case for LSU is Leavitt has to throw 30+ times. I think in that case he probably has 250-300 yards but definitely 1-2 picks or at least dropped picks because our secondary has hands of stone
Guess again. His stats last year were almost identical to 2024.

Luckily for us Ole Miss has a Big 12 Defense!

This statement is disingenuous. You say Ole Miss doesn't have a top 50 defense. Dude, they do not have a top 100 defense. Ole Miss currently ranks firmly at 108 in defense.

I’m just saying, after 2 games of tape, if you let Kiffin choose between Leavitt and Louisville’s QB, I think he would rather have Kienholz

Should be an easy win for you guys

Defensive rankings through 2 weeks don't mean a whole heck of a lot. The missed tackles at 35 through two games is more of an alarm than the coverage busts. We will know at the start of the 2nd quarter if Pete and that defense are as poor as their stats say they are or not.

I would say all of that is fairly good for someone who couldn't crack 100 vs Mississippi State and is injured (hehe).

No, he played just as shitty the year before against State and Texas

He was not hurt either time he played Miss St. He hurt it against Baylor last season which was two weeks after playing Miss St.
He injured his rib and missed game in 2024, but that was 4 weeks after playing Miss St.
Talk about LOLZ.

There's really no way Ole Miss can lose, if you think about it.

His passing proficiency won't matter if LSU can run the ball and slow down Chambliss.
If they have to put the game on Leavitt's arm and go shot for shot with Ole Miss, then LSU is going to have a hard time.
