It's def a talent issue. Last yr you had the same coordinators and made the championship game.

Your offensive line and reeivers aren't elite like usual.

Last years team was not that great either. They barely made it that far really, and it was surprising when they did.

This years team is 2 plays away from being undefeated. Both loses to top10 teams, @ their 100k stadium, by a combined total of 4 points.

A few plays here and there and this team could also be undefeated. But it wouldn't suddenly mean they were well coached or that there haven't been blatant issues the past 2 years.

Yes, now everyone can play like Bama has for decades.

A few plays here and there and Bama could've lost to Texas and Ole Miss too.

Saban's done.

If you Gumps think he has the energy to build the program back up again, youre delusional.

After first reading this, I thought "holy shite that's a dumb take." But then I saw who posted it and realized it's par for the course

They're gonna finish 10-2, and have a roster full of the top rated talent. No "building the program back up" will be necessary. They're literally just 2 halfway decent coordinators away from being right back into the hunt

The same could be said about us. Auburn, Bama, and Arkansas were toss ups. We needed a fourth quarter comeback against MS state and Florida game wasn’t secured until well into 4th quarter.

Could easily be 5-5 right now. That said, finishing string is very important and we beat some really good teams. And watering down the caliber of our wins doesn’t really help our push for playoffs.

I think we just have 2 bad coordinators. And we're still gonna go 10-2 with 2 road losses on the last play of the game to good teams. I guess that means we died? I dunno.

Didnt bama have a top 3 ranked recruitment and transfer portal class?

No, Bama was ranked sixth in using the transfer portal. And does one good year with the transfer portal automatically negate four prior bad years with it?

The transfer portal was originally set up because coaches like Saban were oversigning classes and "grayshirting" players who apparently would never play a down at Bama but now couldn't play at any other schools either due to their commitments to Bama. The transfer portal has now given those players visibility and a voice, and now they can leave Bama and pursue their dreams of playing football at other SEC schools. Saban is already speaking out about it, implying that the transfer portal will bring down college football. Usually when he says something like that, he is basically saying that he personally finds it overwhelming. Back during his first drop-off in wins at Bama (2010), he was regularly a lone voice in the wilderness crying wolf on TV claiming that the spread offense was dangerous and would cause injuries and should be banned, apparently because his own teams had difficulty stopping it. 12 years later, the spread hasn't proved any more dangerous than any other offensive scheme.

You’re way overthinking it. He’s lost entirely too many coaches to poaching and it’s finally caught him

This doesn't explain the discipline issues this season. Saban's teams were always excellent at not beating themselves with penalties. The penalties and trash talking are very different than what we're used to seeing from them.

I wouldn't hold a funeral for Alabama, but I do think NIL helped to level the playing field.

There are deeper issues that are there and are due to losing Cochran and Saban aging and such. I'm not sure we'll be able to fix those, to be honest. But if we have better coordinators this team is probably 10-0 and looks like one of the 3 best teams in the country. The deeper issues are there, but they are absolutely secondary to the glaring red lights that are our coordinator situation.

I'd be ecstatic to get to the point where we are solely complaining about lack of discipline again.
