I thought Ely had been processed.

In all honesty it's a spring game. Mett was calling his own plays out there. Coaches have it because they have to at this point.

It didnt really concern me. We rarely look great in spring games. It was a practice game. Our coaches were trying different things. I was very happy with a lot of things I saw.

Agreed, I always thought their purpose of signing them would be for depth purposes. Next year the job will almost certainly be between Alec Morris and Cooper Bateman. Blake Sims will never see the field as a starting quarterback, IYAM.

He will likely transfer, but he played in the Spring game.

McCleod and Ely will never see the field.
You're right about Ely, but McCleod looked decent and he is still supposed to be in high school.

I really thought Ely was going to be the next good one. Wrong.
When he got banged up his senior season of HS I had a feeling that he might not cut it. Plus I never really saw anything from him that made me go "that's the next guy." Morris on the other hand is who I've been excited about. Now only if he could pay a little better attention to what he's doing.

I know it was just a spring game, but the game just seemed very uncharacteristically sloppy for a Nick Saban coached team. Did this raise any concern amongst the Alabama fanbase
My only concern is if Coach Saban can juggle more crystal balls without breaking them.

It's a spring game, real time situations would have not called for half the stuff called.
Only 8-9 offensive plays were called per AJ himself, so it's not really a shock the D caught on...

I saw McCarron play last year, and he really just doesn't pose much of a threat IMHO.

Average QB with tons of weapons around him

Backup QB situation is a concern, mostly because of inexperience. Otherwise, I was very pleased - especially the backup LBs and DBs.
