Pretty much THIS. LSU will be fine if this is an anomaly year.

next year LSU is slated to lose SRs:

Mett
tahj jones
lamin barrow
jc copeland
Loston
James Wright

Maybe Jr La'el Collins

The only real losses are Collins, Mett and maybe Barrow, but we are solid at LB. Not worried about the others. Add all the freshman we played this year and prolly alot of FR and Soph will play next year. If we can find a QB to replace Mett, we should be solid the following year.

It will suck to return so much but lose the QB for 2014 season. Maybe the offense can get going by then.

Wait, Bama doesn't have a single junior leaving early? How the fricking frick do you win the NC game by 28 points and not have any early entries.

Yeah, and Bama was a couple plays away from a 3 loss season. Georgia could be national champs and Bama would be dejected after losing the Chicken Bowl.

If my aunt had balls, she'd be teabagging passed out Bama fans at Krystal Burger.

Thanks for playing the Hypothetical Irrelevancy Round of Jeopardy.

In the long term is very advantageous to put players into the league and to put them in early. The short term, however, is another story and can limit or remove all long term benefits if you fall flat on your face with a depleted roster.

Not saying that's going to happen, but you can't laugh it off as if there aren't some risks involved. I think opposing fans are looking at the short term when they think of it's affect on LSU.

Bama is expected to have 3 juniors leave. (Fluker, Milliner, Lacy)

OL is A&M's strength. I could say the same thing. The truth is it will hurt to lose starters on the OL for A&M, just like it will be painful to lose the entire DL for LSU.

You could say it, but I would have a hard time believing it having seen aggies' o-line progress over the past four years...

Those guys weren't a "strength" four years ago, they were this past season, the steadily improved to where they were this past season, but I will be surprised to see aggies be able to do on the oline next year what LSU did this year when it comes time to replace guys...

I was gonna say. If Lacy doesn't leave I'd almost think something fishy was going on at Bama. He has been in college 4 years I think and he put on a display in the championship game. There's no reason to think he'd go any higher next year.

Why leave early and take a pay cut?

They were a couple plays away from losing 5 games this year, and the schedule's not getting any easier. Really tough second half of SEC play for LSU. I'd be worried about leadership and the defense if I were them. Will there be enough there to cover up Miles ineptness on offense? Think they take a step back next year.
on the other hand, we were a couple of plays away from beating Bama and being in the title game. our O line will be better next year, and we should rebound nicely. anyone who thinks we won't be in the hunt for the SEC and National Title again next year hasn't been paying attention

9-3 at worst. We have talent thats proven. We play our young guys, especially on defense.

BIG difference between O-line and D-line.

LSU regularly plays 8-10 D-linemen EVERY GAME, quarter, score and time on the clock doesn't matter. I have seen second team D-linemen on the field the second series against bama. If coaches are allready playing subs at that point they have all the confidence in the world in them.

Not a single coach in the country rotates his O-line that way. Even in a blowout win especially in conference the starting O-line is in there into the fourth quarter.

You are right though LSU will experience a production loss along the DL but, the LBs and secondary will be improved over the '12 season.

Yeah, I don't think you're going to see NFL teams put a premium on running backs anymore with most teams going to a two-three back system and with the ability to pick up backs like Washington did with Morris in the late rounds on the cheap.

So, on one hand you can't blame them for leaving at the first chance the get if the grade out for a decent payday, but on the other hand you can't blame them for staying in college if their team is has a chance at competing for titles or they want to complete their degree.

9-3 at worst? You play Florida, Georgia, Alabama, A&M, and Ole Miss. There's 5 losses right there, not that I think LSU will lose every one, but it could happen. It could get a hell of a lot worse if than 9-3 if the defense takes a step back.

Chavis will always put good defenses out there, we lead the country or close to it in freshmen played this year and we bring back our whole offense. 3-2 or 2-3 in those 5 games looks about right to me. We aren't winning any titles next year but come on we aren't falling off a cliff either.
