Good job Auburn. I thought only Kansas was sick enough to promote a guy whose failure to implement basic heat illness protocols led to a kid’s death.
I’d be understanding if it happened 15 years ago before the nation wide push to prevent this kind of thing was saving hundreds of lives but this was right at the peak of the heat safety movement.

Nope. Completely cleared from all wrongdoing.

And Freeze would have called a hooker. It doesn't matter if he wasn't there. If Brian Kelly can get blamed for that kid dying on a scissor lift then this prick can take the blame for orchestrating a shitshow of a program where a player is dying on the sideline and nobody gets him help for over an hour. I guarantee you Durkin thinks about that kid way more than Auburn fans ever will.

If you actually research the incident, Durkin was a scapegoat.

There are plenty of emotional tards here though who aren't capable of a little research.

And you'd trade you eagle and any other mascot you have and a few hundred million just to beg for him to take your job.

And he'd say no. You just fire your garbage pile coach that you had to hire after the last failure.

Your football program is never coming back. And you deserve every bit of it.

Maybe so.

One thing we know for sure: he ended the program at your school. Forever.

All I know is, a couple of weeks after this all happened, with Maryland having an interim coach and the Terps in disarray, Tom Herman somehow managed to lose to them with a much more talented Texas team.

Based on everything posted in this thread, it seems the answer is yes. He seems at least as culpable in this murder as Brian Kelly was in that situation. By that I mean he should have been ostracized and never allowed to coach again.

That article points to a psychopath running the program. I guess people can rationalize anything in the name of footbàll. Sounded like Full Metal Jacket in real life.

And if Auburn makes him permanent head coach it won’t end well. Replace one reprehensible character with another one. It’s like they never learn anything.

These clowns think a head football coach should be diagnosing and treating heat stroke.

The training, conditioning, and medical staff at Maryland failed and a player tragically died.

I’m glad that football coaches don’t decide which players are facing a medical emergency. That would be insane.
