fwiw, it looks to me like a mutual parting of the ways. coach O definitely did not like the offense lack of productivity in the first few games and the fact our red zone offense was really bad. why Canada isn't getting another year is pure speculation and boy it is rampant with the fans that hate Orgeron. vocal bunch.

He is leaving by mutual agreement. Just didn't work out. What LSU will pay him is under negotiation now. It wont be anywhere near $3 million for sure.

The answer is LSU is a very unstable program from the University President-Athletic Director-Head Coach. The Governor and the President held LSU football hostage last year to force a tax increase through the legislature. Decisions being made by the Athletic Director to siphon off upwards of 10 million per year to the academic side is his main focuse. All the while lowballing coaching hires and facilities that have been lacking for sometime while money has rolled in. Plans are afoot if history is any indicator to siphon off more of the profits from the football program into the hands of LSU system controlled by the afore mentioned president who could care less about football.

Academics > Football. The state of Louisiana needs to remember that and stop wasting money during coaches they can’t afford and building lazy rivers no one really needs.

Lazy River at LSU and O's salary are not being paid with tax dollars or even dollars redirected from academics.
