Did anyone watch the SEC repeat, or even original Miss State vs Memphis game?

Towards the end of the game, after 3 hours of lightening and storm delays, the game had lasted over 6 hours. Miss State had the game sealed and was running, literally, to just run clock and end the game.

Well, Memphis thought calling timeouts with a few minutes left was smart. Leach was pissed, he knew this game was over and people were tired after a 6+ hour game.

That is when you saw Leach call Will Rogers over and whispered to him. The Rogers lit up and got his team together. He threw deep and the catch was not made ( should have been). Throws deep again and boom! Touchdown.

I heard this discussion on local radio and after re- watching the game, no doubt Leach was making a statement. He was tired and wanted Memphis to pay for extending a game they already lost. I love Leach, learn more about that man every month.

I should have added, Miss State had put in 2nd and 3rd stringers in the gane while Memphis kept their starters in. Thats the only way Memphis scored. Up until halfway 3rd Quarter, Memphis had like 40 total yards on offense,

Yeah, and what is the deal why Ole Miss and Miss State play them to begin with. We both get horrible officiating as if they bet the spread on Memphis. I do not want to play them ever again.

Don’t know but if we never have to travel to the liberty bowl again that’s a win in my book

I’m a huge fan of Mike Leach and support the tactics he used against Memphis.

Leach will continue to build a great program there at Mississippi State!

He's a pretty low key guy. Doesn't like drama etc, but no question about our last TD. We were running clock to get out of there, long game. Memphis with timeouts no doubt set Leach off lol. "Will, go deep to end zone." Boom lol

I think state will have a real solid team this year. I won’t be shocked at all if they beat LSU next Saturday either. They’re gonna be trouble for much of the west outside of bama.

I watched on tv. Agree with DMagic. Liberty is a crumbling, dirty venue. Never nice to see 2-4 police in tactical gear armed with rifles around every gate. Scenic area surrounds the stadium too.

They do have some plans to upgrade it. From what I’ve seen, the artist renderings look very nice.

MSU has a great team. Not looking forward to playing them. They will eat our D-backs for breakfast. Our only hope is we out score them.

Adults not being able to spell lightning has always amazed me. It’s not one of those words with weird spelling.

Back when we played UCF there I saw these poor UCF fans who had parked in the ghetto east side of the Liberty Bowl getting mugged. A cop was right there on the corner and didn’t do a damn thing. I had my kids in the car so I couldn’t stop but seriously that whole area needs to be bulldozed. All that money that went into the childrens museum upgrades should have gone to moving it to a better location.

Agree 100%. Many years (decades) ago Memphis was a great place to visit and the LB was a good venue. Not anymore. I hope we don’t schedule them anymore either. Back in the day, my Dad always called Houston, Memphis State, Louisville outlaw teams. Still rings true today.

This is not directed only at you, but Leach's response was incorrect.
Be an a-hole just because someone else is being an ashole still leaves you as an a-hole too.
I think you'll find that taking the high road will serve you better in the long run, although I know the temptation can be strong. I have struggled with it at times as well, of course.
What Leach taught his team and some viewers is that lowering yourself to a-hole level is the correct response.
