Despite leading the Dawgs to their first national title in 41 years, a poll on UGASports.com, has 63.9 percent of its voters hoping Bennett will "ride off into the sunset as a DGD." Bennett completed 64.5 percent of his passes for 2,862 yards and 29 touchdowns to seven interceptions quarterbacking the Dawgs to a national title. However, some people are still not sold on him.

Those fans who want Bennett gone are the smart, non-emotional UGA fans.

I don't want him gone, but I want him to have to compete for the starting role next year.

It took a historical defense and the best front 7 of the last 25 years for Georgia to win despite Stetson Bennett.

He was a means to an end, but he also is in no way shape or form a guy who can win you a game when the chips are down or the other team has equal talent.

If Bama did not have their entire WR corps out, I feel Georgia probably would have lost the game.

Bennett will go to mid-major or sub-par P5 school and get exposed greatly.

It's like this. Winning a championship should make you work harder and not rest on your laurels. To bring Stetson back is resting on your laurels.

If he stays, awesome, and if he gives UGA the best chance of winning after coaches evaluate spring and fall camp then I hope he is the starter.

If Vandergriff or Stockton does, be then I hope they start.

I care about UGA football in the 2022 season now that we are 2021 National fukkin Champions!!!!

Well, there's three or four on roster right now depending on which service you rank them by, if you include the early enrollee Gunner Stockton. You can't have nor should you have four 5* QB's on one roster. People have to transfer. There's no fear there, it's expected. You pack the room with as much talent as possible, and let the cream rise to the top, and then let the others transfer out and bring in new 5*s to keep the competition going.

this is meant as some kind of hot take on our fanbase but it really isn't. It's perfectly logical that we can both 1)be extremely happy and thankful for having stetson and what he did for us and love the dude, and 2)want to have a higher ceiling QB for next year.

Here's the bottom line...this year was the best defense UGA has ever fielded. It's one of the best defenses in CFB over the last few decades. A ton of those guys (and the DC) are not going to be here next year, so we will almost surely take a step back. When our defense gives up a whole lot more points than it did in 2021, we're going to need some more fire power at the QB position. That's a logical perspective of the situation and has nothing to do with hating on stetson or saying he sucks.

I loved Jalen Hurts and what he did in 2016, but once I saw Tua play 2-3 times I was ready to see him take over. I still love Jalen to this day and always will.

Pretty similar, I'd guess.

But on the other side of the coin, Stet clearly looked better in 21 than in 20, who is to say he couldn't get even better in 22? And before anyone else starts talking about size, he's the same height and size as Bryce Young.

Similar but Jalen is an NFL QB and Stet the Jet will not be even a backup in the NFL.

That's true, but mid-2017 Jalen did not look like there was any chance he'd be anything more than a practice squad NFL QB while Tua showed signs of clearly being a special talent.

He is also an inch or two taller than Brice Young. Had a much higher qbr than young in the game of the season.

People were talking about moving him to WR at Bama. If I recall correctly.

He had the higher QBR for the whole season or no?
