There are some that say UGA won the game in spite of Bennett, not because of him.

People were talking about moving him to WR at Bama. If I recall correctly.
He actually played WR some in 2018. Caught a couple of balls. Then he got hurt and they shelved it.

I love Stetson and will always give him praise for being the QB at the controls when we won it all
But I also want to have the best players in each position and we happen to have 2 young studs waiting in the wings. I'm not saying take the job from him without another word, but make him earn it again in a fair and open competition.
The need for higher level QB play will be key for the 2022 season since our defense will probably regress a good bit due to losses.

Wrong, anyone who says that is a fool, Stetson Bennett made a great contribution to our season and our win on Monday night.
That said, it was a TOTAL TEAM effort, imo, all the way from Kirby down to the walk ons that make up the scout team.
Go DaWGs, 2021 National fukkin Champions!!

I concur.

But on the other side of the coin, Stet clearly looked better in 21 than in 20, who is to say he couldn't get even better in 22? And before anyone else starts talking about size, he's the same height and size as Bryce Young.
Please refrain from comparing Stetson and Bryce in any category. I have posted some bad takes in the past about Stetson but you’re reaching here pal.

Stetson got the job done. UGA won an NC.
Still it is scary to think of how good this UGA team would've been with a true star QB.

Stetson had a higher qbr for the National Championship Game and Season largely throwing to freshmen wrs.

That’s literally what happened Monday night. When the lights were the brightest, the stakes the highest..he delivered and the “star QBs” on an equally talented team threw 2 INTs

Didn’t A&M run off the QB who won them their super bowl this year?

That's all true, more than anything it's time to move on with the younger guys. Stet served his purpose and has his place in history.

I honestly don't care if he comes back or leaves, I am amazed and fully support him for what he was able to accomplish. I fully believe Kirby has shown he will play the player that gives us the best chance to succeed at that point in time. If he comes back and wins the job I'm good with that, if he sits on the bench making NILmoney I'm good with that. Honestly he could sell insurance for the next 40 yrs and I'll still be grateful for what he was able to do for UGA

Yeah they did, they all hated him. Which made it weird he'd bring this up.

It took a historical defense and the best front 7 of the last 25 years for Georgia to win despite Stetson Bennett.

Bennett will go to mid-major or sub-par P5 school and get exposed greatly.
This is correct.

I loved Jalen Hurts and what he did in 2016, but once I saw Tua play 2-3 times I was ready to see him take over. I still love Jalen to this day and always will.
Pretty similar, I'd guess.
Solid comparison IMO.

Problem is, we've yet to see a Tua (someone head and shoulders better than Stetson). On our roster. At this point, if he returns, you gotta trust Kirby to play the better QB

I’m a huge Stetson fan. I hope he comes back and competes for the starter position. The kid’s confidence and work ethic is off the charts and sometimes that’s more important than how many stars he has.

Stetson might be Georgia’s Greg McElroy. Right place, right time.
Wasn’t that good but could be the guy who started it all.
