You’re in a category of your own loser! Nobody wanted Mason we could easily have had him if we wanted him. Sit back down little boy your team is in shambles!

Douchebag supreme OP

If we’re in shambles then Baton Rogue is damn Hiroshima rn and Marcus Freeman to ND was the H-Bomb. At least I can go to bed tonight with dreams of top 25 defenses.

I would personally like to thank LSU’s athletic department for botching this hire. Freeman might be good but Mason was the best available and y’all just passed. fricking hilarious.

I dont know, Is the bidding still open? Auburn cant have any cash left to raise DM's offer after paying Gus not to coach for the next 5 yrs.

Nahh homie. It’s official. Let’s hope y’all can score at least 21 and make it competitive next year.

Don’t look at Vanderbilt’s defensive stats over the last 4 seasons if you are an Auburn fan.

Cliffs:

They are hot garbage

He wasn’t d-coordinator. But let’s ignore the two years vandy had a top SEC defense while HE WAS d-coordinator bc it fits your narrative. Seems more likely to me that the drop off has more to do with him relinquishing control of the defense to someone that wasn’t himself than that he just forgot how to coach defense in one offseason.

Vanderbilt’s defensive stats

Key word - Vanderbilt. Mason actually took over the defense in 2015 and 16 and had vandy in the top 35 in scoring defense both years before dropping off in 2017. That’s exceptional considering the talent they have to work with.

With Franklin’s talent he succeed, with his own talent he was incompetent. Defensive yards per play the last two seasons were bottom 6 in FBS (124th or worse). Ranked 100 or lower each of the last 3 seasons. That’s trash.

You can say he wasn’t the coordinator, but it’s still his scheme and the talent he evaluated to run the defense - that’s what a defensive HC does. It’s possible the spread proliferation in the SEC left him in the dust - he is by no means a sure thing. Good luck finding out tho

Dude, I think we just gotta own up to it- we fricked up.

Looks like we had a few guys interested, including Mason; then O thought he had Freeman and basically ran the others off.
Now, we have nobody, and it's going to be a hard sell to convince anyone to leave a good situation.

We havent won there this century.

After 2017 when Gus gave up a 3TD 2nd half lead, I have to see us win there before ill ever suggest we win in Red Stick.
