So Alabama would be the only school playing all 3 against Big 6/historically powerful teams. Not great for scheduling parity when the rest of the power teams are getting at least one auto-win, but as a fan, I like it.

I can see it, a&m admin probably wanted more of a "true" sec permanent schedule (even though a&m does not fall in that criteria)

Honest question, were you hoping for Ark/Missouri/OU?

I don’t know enough about the past history there to understand what moves the needle or not.

Agreed. Historical rivalries and geography makes way more since. This is beyond stupid.

I thought it was going to be Arkansas/LSU/tu for A&M

I can get cool with state. I secretly suspect they put us together bc we have the same school colors. My conspiracy.

I think the best scheduling format for A&M would be

LSU/Arkansas/Texas

We don’t have much history with Mizzou/OU. Like with Arky, we've both been in the SWC and have played each other annually since 1934.

We've been in the Big XII with Mizzou/OU but we don't have much of a history prior or during that time period.

Edit: basically was Jay said, sorry man

OU made out like bandits. Play a shitty Florida and Mizzou team every year and get Texas, which they've owned recently.

Also thought Arkansas made out well

LSU gets two teams that have never made it to Atlanta.

Tennessee should have Kentucky not South Carolina. We have a 2 sport rivalry with UK and they are one of our oldest rivals.

I’m not a fan of this system. Seems very dumb

Don't think we'll be choking against either for a while but South Carolina is definitely a spoiler team. It's a damn shame that you're avoiding a taste of your own medicine.

I’m happy with State’s draw. However, how many times has State been picked to finish above any of the three?

Did y’all have more history with Kentucky prior to the new school additions? I wish we played them more

State and LSU were clearly going to be 2 of our opponents. Our 3rd probably should have been Vandy but Arkansas is still a bit of a rival. Have no clue how Auburn and Vandy would be a game. Would think if it wasn’t us Vandy’s 3 would be UT, Kentucky and maybe Florida or UGA.

So, if these are right, here is each teams Big 6+2 matchups:

Missouri-1
Arkansas-1
Texas A&M-2
Texas-1
Oklahoma-2
LSU-1
Ole Miss-1
Mississippi State-0
Alabama-3
Auburn-2
Vanderbilt-2
Tennessee-1
Kentucky-1
Georgia-2
Florida-2
South Carolina-2

Luckily though, you are going to play everyone in a 2 year cycle, which makes it a lot more palatable.

It’s not a good look to be bummed you didn’t land Vandy unless y’all have history of a rivalry.

12-2 in the last 7 years against the two teams we’re playing right now. You do know you don’t have to post if you don’t know what you’re talking about right? Or are you just upset that Texas is going to come back to continue kicking your arse?

How does mizzou get Vandy? Sorry we aren’t giving up our historic rivalry with them!
